A few tips, especially at that speed. Try to pick a line behind the vehicle in front of you where you can see the road ahead of it. I often shift from right to left in the lane to see around the car ahead. The last thing I want is a piece of tire or 2x4 coming out from under the car in front of you. counter-steering is your friend in an emergency. It will let you flick the wheels out of the current line you are traveling to hopefully avoid the object. I also keep a distance enough to be sure I have plenty of reaction time if I cannot see ahead.

If all else fails, like everyone said lift butt and go over. Shift back on the seat to take some weight of the front tire in case it decides to turn on you and ride it thru.

    Just some suggestions.

The Sportster has like 1/2" of travel in the rear. I would change the suspension so it could absorb some of it

One has a seating position that looks like you're on the shitter, the other has a seating position like Fabio riding a horse bareback down the beach.

That should explain it to him.

Something about a Grom that doesn’t sit well with me. Showing my age here but one of these from back in the day is more my style if I were to go mini for the street. :)

You gotta pay to play, right? :D

I'll tell you what though, it rides completely different on the road now! Much more stable at higher speeds and I have much more confidence whipping around turns. It's sticky on streets now!

I’ve wanted a SM my whole life haha halfway converted a sloooooow Yamaha XT once.

Problem is I’ve had bikes like the Chief and SV650 and ridden bikes like the R6, XSR900 and FTR, etc. and my beloved dual sports seem pretty boring now…

I’ve thought about pushing the SV as close to SM lightness as I can but it’s already pretty bare bones ha.

Jelly of your setup for sure!

Wonder if there’s such a thing as a SM wheel/tire combo for the TW200.

I had my 1985 Yamaha FJ1100 when those came out and my brothers 2 boys were little. They'd seen my bike enough times that they knew what it was. I wanted to get one of those YSRs and ride over to my brothers house on it then tell me nephews that when I washed my bike it shrank....

I hear you on that. I've been riding my FZ6 for the past couple weeks so getting back on this with the new setup was....fun! Definitely slower but so much fun to be able to move move it around so easily on the road. I did get left in the dust by a guy on an R6 this afternoon on the boulevard but I'm okay with that. haha

haha! why not? I think you have the skillz to make anything happen! :D

    c'est la vie.....life + responsibilities can suck sometimes :)

Considering running a spot lense on the left light and hybrid lense on the right to get the middle beam pattern, 10+ seconds of visibility at 68MPH seems ideal.
Parts are supposed to be in on Monday so I’ll probably put the bike in the shop Tuesday or Wednesday to add the lights/dial-dim, change the oil, and add the thermo-bob.
