Those fucking lights on the newer ones though.

Guess the jolly ol brits are used to crooked teeth so the lights look good to them.

My want for the 701sm is too much tho that a WRx or DRZsm is unacceptable.

Tough decision of the evening. To ride the bike to work tomorrow or not. 35 min on the bike ~22 in the truck

Can't blame ya. I'm content with my drz, but if I were going to do it again it'd be a 450/500.

Bike every time for me. Why so much difference in time?

Rode mine to work and back for the first time today. 40-45 minute commute one way doing 70-80mph.

On the way to work it was fine. My dual sport helmet wasn't too terrible. Noisy, but headphones cut most of that out. On the way back though it was a bit of a struggle. I couldn't really look straight the entire time. Wind kept pushing my helmet left and right. Will have to ride to work and back one more time with the dual sport helmet. My new helmet and windshield for the bike should be here tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully it makes things much smoother and quieter.

No freeway on the DRZ, for a couple reasons. The average speed is roughly 95mph until it becomes 0 very quickly on the freeways around here, nobody looks and its terrifying. My drz only does about 75 before the engine is screaming (I know i need to rejet and cut my air box) and I'm on my permit because it was too hot to ride 45 min to the mvd during the summer. They also won't do motorcycle tests when its over 105 which is most of the summer here.

Gonna go finally get my full license next week.

Edit: Gonna coin toss in the morning. Will update.

Wear some earplugs and then get a Sena or something with speakers

    This is where you're wrong.

    Mine are ear protection.

Idk what kind of Sena you have. But their speakers are useless in a dual sport helmet above 55mph. Maybe they're better in a sport bike helmet, but I'll be using headphones with my Sena regardless.

I've held mine pinned all it would run up over the mountains and back down the other side hoping town to town on the interstate with 600s

You won't hurt it. But its much more manageable with the extra power. Imagine how much better Chris' is. Street tires and an extra 5+ hp over my bike, yeah
