I need some input. Should I trade my stock 2003 drz400s (6k miles in great shape) for a 2005 crf450x, unknown miles, new top end, very clean (in pictures). Has some extras and claims to be street tagged.

    Thoughts?

    I have one of each...

The crf is not very streetable IMO. You know when you just want to go 45 mph and maintain that speed for a bit? No problem on the DRZ. Not so easy on the CRF. The throttle on the CRF is more on and off.

I like the CRF a lot for the woods or track but not on the street. If you're either accelerating or decelerating, fine. Hard to just maintain a speed though like you need to do much of the time on the street.

it's a good bike. Really depends on what kind of maintenance you want to do. The crf will be a lot more fun imo

Well the deal fell through unfortunately, Literally within 5 mins he said they were willing to let it go and next the owner stepped in and said he was going to hold onto it :annoyed:

No biggie tho, I was only trying to make some money on the deal anyways to pay for a race suit. Guess ill have to come up with the funds the old fashioned way

But if he is content with the power of that DRZ, a crf is likely going to kick his ass lol

Well I'm content with my 250. Doesn't mean a person can't handle more obviously ;)

I want some more power but I don't think I want a lot more power. I think I'm gonna pass on it. Or maybe I'll try to get him to trade is 250+ cash. Then ill buy an fz 07 or something later...

I got some footage to go through for today but I'm a little disappointed in the camera height, it caught a lot of dash

If your gonna do more dirt riding and less street go for it. I'd verify its street legal first if not might be a bargaining tool for you.

You need to do something like this. Best view angle imo and it doesn't cause any added wind resistance.

Put it under your visor? That seems to be pretty popular.

Plastic dipped my dirt rims, street rims are either gonna get anodized or powder coated over the winter

That was my initial plan. My visor is peaked though so I may try getting some extra tape to make up the gap
