I'll tell him to look into that!

To be honest, I don't think these things would keep me from BMW ownership. Even at $350 I'd just factor the GS911 into the purchase price of the bike. It just surprised me how many hoops one would have to jump through vs something like my Versys (which to be fair is a lot older).

I want snug, but not crushing. These were painful even seated with no weight on my feet. I'll size up and see how it goes.

Arai XD4 in the blue Depart graphic. Only worn it for a 30 minute test fit so far, but it's so much nicer than the old Shark S700 I had.

Its kinda nice to have though, I will admit. Like my bike was idling weird one day, reset the idle air control actuator with moto scan and voila back to normal. Or changing from stock 10,000km oil change intervals to 5,000 miles or 6 months. Little things like that. But yeah, on the other hand, still a pain in the ass to not be able to just like, hold down the odometer reset button while turning the ignition on and have the service light go out haha

I'm even more old school, I don't want my bike to tell me when to maintain it. :anonymous:

Didn’t the SoCal guys have the supermoto class today? Curious to hear back. I was wrenching all day- returning a truck to stock for a buddy.

I have multiple helmets but the one I use the most in my icon airform. I started to wear icon helmets about 8 years ago. They fit my head perfectly and not much air noise. Before that always wore Arai. Also have a scorpion but that helmet sucks it's more of a backup.

My ktm won't allow me to turn alot of stuff off till I hit 600mi. Which sucks not the biggest fan of all the fancy abs traction control lean control. But I do love the bike though. Sounds really good and just a blast to ride. No where near fast like the cbr but a good around the town bike. Had a kid I worked with keep asking to race me I was like kid this thing is not that fast his gsxr would smoke that bike.

It looks like the OBDLink MX+ itself is $130+ on Amazon, plus $30 for the app, plus $50+ for the phone... at which point it's not that far from a GS911.

I already had the obdlink, which made it $50 for the full version of the app and $50 for the phone. You can also use cheaper dongles, it just has to have the right ELM327 (i think?) chip so it can send the longer strings than the real real cheap ones. But yeah, if the extra $ isn't an object the GS911 is definitely going to provide the better experience.

Jezus... What happens when you need to do maintenance on the road with those fancy bmws?

Next you are gonna tell me they have to pay a subscription for seat heaters.

I'm sure they are a damned nice bike but man, hearing stuff like that makes me want less crap, another reason why I went the super tenere

the intervals are like every 6k miles so... really how far out there is one going??

chances are you will have a bmw certified repair shop... if not at least a way to rain and fill the crank case along the way

IMHO, whats a 300-400 usd dealership oil change on a 20k usd bike anyway, I never truly understand the poverty cry :bananadead:

Buy and ride what you want. Maintenance intervals/reminders… Who cares. It’s no different than vehicles. That’s why there are options. As long as it makes you happy, enjoy the hell out of it.

I should be out riding on a beautiful day, but taking a break from cutting grass and playing with doggie.

I cringe at the thought of $300-400 oil changes :puke:I think I went with Dino oil for the Grom instead of synthetic. I am one cheap guy

its about 100 bucks in supplies for a bmw oil change then you gotta take the time out of your day and that is a solid hour+ start to finish, whats another 200 bucks at that point

lol for a grom with a 3400 msrp and 2500 mile intervals, i would cringe as well if it was 300-400 :drunk:
