Which are the two filters in the kit? I thought it comes with only one filter and one vent cap.

I agree it's probably worth it, though. I'll try and mess with the intake first before ordering the accessory kit and jets.

Well rode for about 5 1/2 hrs today. Started on the Zx10r then jumped on the monkey then finished it off on the R3. Wow what a day. Came to the conclusion that the Zx10r is just too much bike for me at this point in my life. I absolutely love love the R3. The sound is amazing and it handles like it’s on rails. The Monkey is just a blast. Anyway made the decision to sell the ZX10r. It only has 847 miles but at my age (55) with being a carpenter for 31.5 years my body just can’t take it. The R3 is so comfortable and my favorite,, well the monkey is fun too. Anyway it’s forsale so if anyone in the Seattle area is looking for a super clean one owner 2023 Zx10r let them know I have one forsale.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Good luck with the sale. I get the reasons behind selling it. At some point all those HPs just aren’t used unless you’re on the track, which means you’re not there for a comfy ride.
My last liter bike was a ‘15 1290r SuperDuke. I loved everything about except there was a gap between 3rd and 4th. That bike didn’t want to putt around town, 1-3rd was very easy, 4th only wanted to be wound out. The rest of the gears you were getting tickets.

I sold it, it was comfortable to I ride and I do miss it. However, I am enjoying the smaller bikes right now. Just a blast to ride and most definitely takes your riding skills up a notch.

I put 62k miles on an ‘01 sv650 naked. I loved that street fighter, and I could easily carve the canyons with any liter bike…and most definitely being comfortable doing it.

Smart move. Go with your gut.

@spencermarkd did you go with just springs? How are you liking the ride? That gif I posted is me everytime I hop on the Grom. Stock suspension is so freaking bad. I would love to swap out the suspension and get rearsets then I would have a really good ripper.

Yeah I just did springs, spacer, and heavier weight oil. Night and day difference. I'm sure that going with the full cartridge set would be another major difference, but I'm not mad about my choices haha definitely less plush over road bumps and potholes and stuff, but I haven't bottomed it out since I put them in, where I was bottoming out every ride on the stock ones, and it now has really great feel when pushing it hard in corners.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Five years ago, I sold my F4i and bought an MT-09. I still found the sportbike ergos comfortable and could ride that bike all day (350 mile days were not uncommon). When the time came, a buddy of mine asked why I wasn't buying a new liter bike instead of the MT. While the riding position wasn't a problem, I was having more of a problem justifying the extra power, speed and electronic gizmos in the realm of practicality.

Let me back up a moment...I'm 64 now and my back (primarily) is giving me shit for all of the fun I had in my teens and twenties with dirt bikes, trampolines, skiing and offroad racing. In hindsight, the change in direction was brilliant.

The Yami is everything I need everyday. It has enough speed to put me in jail, enough torque to put a shit-eating grin on my face and enough agility to make a ride in the twisties as enjoyable as ever and it's all day comfortable. For a change of pace, I have my 400 Bandit, which is stupid fun.

About 2 weeks after my buddy asked me why I didn't buy a liter bike, he traded his Versys for a Ninja 1000 (not the ZX10). It's not the all-out liter bike but he told us that was exactly what he needed. I found out last week that he finally sold the Ninja, it had less than 6k miles on the clock, I have over 38k on the MT. He always complained that the Ninja was too heavy, too powerful to be practical and he could never get it comfortable, even after spending thousands on seats, clipons, suspension bits, rearsets and whatever else. He now has money down on a ZX400RR . At least he's addressed the weight and power issues.

Good on ya' for being self-critical enough to realize you made a mistake...shame it's probably going to cost you some cash. The R3, like my Bandit is a bike that you can wring it's neck and have a buttload of fun without getting into stupid speeds. And the Monkey...'nuff said.

I am going to the dealership on Tuesday and talk to the owner Scott about trading it in on a 2022 Yamaha Tracer 9gt. I think that will be more my style. Just have to see what kind of deal we can make. Obviously the Zx10r is more money. They have a 2022 tracer marked down to $12,999 and after tax, title license set up delivery I am sure it’s at about 16,000. We will see. It might be straight across and I can add things like full exhaust, filter, ecu flash and dyno tune. (They have a dyno) . We will see what happens.

Good news is you won’t have to pay tax with the trade in.

That's a nice bonus. The county guy was confused for a minute when I went to get my plate. Had to explain the trade/tax thing.

To be fair, he was only briefly confused because it's a newer format for them. I guess that info isn't in the same place it used to be.

There are an increasing number of Tracer owners on the FJR1300 forums. Guys wanting something a bit lighter and easier to handle than the FJR. I'd suggest letting it stock for a while first before doing many performance mods. The FJR is 145 hp at 642 pounds and apparently the power to weight ratio of the Tracer is pretty comparable.

Went for a ride after running around for Mother's Day. A bit windy, but beautiful out. Put about 45 miles on the bike, and would have kept going if I weren't suddenly hit with the bubbleguts.
    Barely made it home! :boom:
