Empty freeways early in the morning always got me except I was never really going fast.

All my tickets happened to be only 5 mph over and given by a motorcycle cop. I was always peeved because just letting go the throttle I’d be going the speed limit.

I guess I was lucky also that I was never caught really when opening up.

sometimes DIY is better. I made a rear rack for my bike from a $12 piece of aluminum. I get asked all the time where people can buy it. Its the best feeling.

Yeah...considering what i've gotten away with, I'll happily eat this ticket lol. My usual cruising speed is around 90-100, since traffic around here is generally cruising at 85-90 or so.

Which highway? I lived out in east county for many years up until 2015 and seemingly nobody wanted to run more than 75-80 on 8, 163, or the 94, I didn’t drive I-5 much so maybe they’re a little faster there.

I’ve never been stopped on my bike, in fact the only times I’ve been pulled over (3) were all in Virginia and it was always Virginia state police.

Do yourself a favor, ditch that pleated style Amazon special filter and get a uni pod filter that you oil, the filtration will be FAR superior and will flow likely better.

this was on the 5, right by the mission beach/clairemont exits. It definitely seems people on the 5 drive faster than the other freeways around here, especially right after the rush hour traffic clears up which is when it happened. Everyone antsy to get moving and get home I guess.

    Heres the legit uni ones
    https://unifilter.com/online-catalog/clamp-on-air-filters/

but you can also get foam filters on Amazon pretty easy

    https://www.amazon.com/GOOFIT-Performance-Cleaner-Replacement-Motorcycle/dp/B09TFB4CRC?crid=1M49BPFDNLGBB&keywords=48mm+foam+air+filter&qid=1684879282&sprefix=48mm+foam+air+filter%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-11&th=1

    https://www.amazon.com/s?k=48mm+foam+air+filter&crid=1M49BPFDNLGBB&sprefix=48mm+foam+air+filter%2Caps%2C136&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

no need to run both inner and outer foam. I run both on my grom but only oil the inner

Realistically on the Navi, it probably aint gonna make a difference from an airflow perspective... but man, those pleated ones have such horrible filtration.

Thank you! Just ordered, should have gotten that instead of the $8 pleated one from eBay that took a week to arrive. :(

Make sure to oil it with your favorite air filter oil.

Good thing I wasnt caught the times I topped 140 on my GSXR. On an empty 73 toll road (autobahn). Did that in my tuned BMW 335i also. I have nothing that goes fast right now so thats probably good for me. Although my F150 gets past 100 pretty easy. :D

    Looks great man!

I have a Chimera intake on my grom mainly due to having an oil cooler where the stock airbox goes... the intake noise is almost too loud at times as its right by the steering stem below your helmet and I have always considered adding a 90 to point it down or something.

Where did you get that silicone tube?

Thanks! The tube is from Amazon:

    Ucreative 90 Degree Elbow 4-Ply... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CDCP27T?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The clamps were way too big though, so if I were to buy again I’d just buy from eBay without the clamps for half the price.

I also added a 3D printed insert so the air filter had something more solid to clamp onto.

as far as I'm concerned, the 73 IS our Autobahn. if we have to pay to be on it, and it's always empty....I don't see the problem lol
