I'm not sure if this is helpful but I got an H4 harness extension off Amazon and wired mine up like so:

    upload_2023-7-2_12-20-1.png

That way I didn't have to cut into the stock harness and it just plugs back into the headlight. Not sure if the KLR has an H4 light though.

    https://www.amazon.com/Wiring-Harne...d=1688325644&sprefix=h4+extens,aps,539&sr=8-3

For mounts I used a longer bolt for the fairing and 3D printed a sleeve for some light mounts to clamp on to. I'd imagine the KLR has somewhere to clamp to as well.

The KLR has a plug for fog lights pre-built (video I posted shows it) but idk what all is required. They didn't really get into it beyond a cursory view snd plugging their products. I don't think it'll be too crazy.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Hell yeah it is! I came down to my house in Ga to get a new tenant moved in. Bad idea, as I am usually perched on the side of a mtn about 5300’ up.
    This heat is brutal!

Well I went ahead and installed the body work on the R3. Is it perfect? NO! does it fit like factory? NO! is it all the same yellow? NO!
Can you tell when I am riding by? NO!
I think it will look better with a white tank cover and some black tank grips. Otherwise it OK.

Skid plate 90% done. Need to do a little clearancing, one small bracket off the head, and massage the drain bolt hole a bit. I’m so tickled with how this came out.

Tomorrow is the last 10%, paint, and wrapping up the video! And fingers crossed going out for a ride and some beauty shots.

Maybe add an oil cooler? It bothers me when you block the engine when its oil cooled. It needs all the air it can get across the engine cooling fins as possible. JMO carry on

Maybe. I'm probably dropping it a 1/4" or so lower, and I may end up cutting slits in the front panel still. Not very many of the fins are blocked as it sits, and along the bottom the engine is actually more shielded from the exhaust than it was. Win a little lose a little I guess.

Looks like a pretty good idea. Are you going to weld it into one piece or leave it separate?

Leaving it separate is the plan. With the exhaust going through it like that if I weld it into one piece I'd have to remove the exhaust every time I want to drop the skid. And it's not like I'll be bashing it off rocks or anything where I might need the beefiness of a 1 piece pan.
