I don't have an answer for you.

My Alpinestars feel great size-wise (im a 13us), but when i was going out of my neighborhood, my feet were pretty loose. I stopped to tighten things up more. I know I will need to tighten even more when im not tucking my jeans into them.

The Forma's fit really well. My feet can move a little bit, but not as much as the A*. I will correct that. But have less ankle protection. They also have 7700 miles on them, and have been wet and dry. They are waterproof so nothing inside got wet besides sweat. If I keep them, ill just use to go around town and not offroad

Oh almost forgot to share...had an eventful morning today. Popped my rear. must have been a nail or screw, was gone by the time I pulled over but could see the imprint and hole pretty easily. Had to use the 2nd of my 4 yearly AAA tows, took it home, plugged it, and rode it back to work. Seems to be holding.

Can't explain just how sketchy it is to have rapid air loss in your rear tire as you're lane splitting through gridlocked morning traffic. Rear tire went from planted to squirrely in about 3 secs flat. Some things you gotta experience for yourself....though this is not one I would recommend. take my word for it lol

Rapid deflation is NO BUENO! Glad you came out of it OK and it WASNT the front!

Speaking of punctures and flats. After having to plug a screw in my trucks tire I decided to take inventory of things and am in the process of sorting my tire plug setup for my Tenere. Decided to stick with bacon strips even though I rock balancing beads as I have an abundance of the bacon strips and they have done me very well in the past.

    Got this

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097TS2MNQ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Its TINY for what it is (think ~ 2 D cell batteries in length and halfway between D cell and C cell diameter). Has both the reamer and insertion tool, comes with 5 bacon strips.

I also got a few tubes of vulcanizing cement as I needed to replenish the truck and i THINK one will fit in the tool above with everything.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD3P434?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I even grabbed a lil knife from the standard kits I have been using that was extra and put it in the kit. If it all packages together how I envision, ill end up doing the same tool for the truck as right now its a random bag of leftovers from 2 or 3 of these kits and takes up tons of room.

The air plugger tool with all its things inside fits UNDER the seat of my tenere, along with a small hand pump if I was desperate. I have one of these small compressors that goes in the top box of the tenere when im doing longer trips and it does pretty good. Fully deflated front tire to 36 psi in ~2min.

cheek pad are probably fine to throw in the wash, one of my liners is like a mesh with a foam backer and I don't see that holding up very well with other clothes sloshing around with it. Almost used one of my wifes lingerie bag things but just hand washed instead. A minute or two of squishing it around in the water, let it soak for 10 or 15 minutes, then rinse and squished until the water all came out clear then set on a towel on the counter to dry.

Out of ALLL of my bikes, including the super rare unicorn that is a CA street legal 2014 WR450..... the grom HANDS DOWN gets the most attention, probably 10x combined of the other 3 bikes.

I bought a 2nd set of liners/pads for my helmet so I can just wash and let dry as long as they need. I just get too lazy to actually swap pads and wash though. :D

Flip key is the shit, my old Audi A4 came with one. One of my favorite things about that car ha

Also I was confused when they first handed me the key for my 701, it has a sheath that you slide off... hadn't seen that before

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Man, you could try using mink oil, but unfortunately the only thing to do is get out and walk in the fuckers or ride aggressively on the balls of your feet.
I know water has helped mine break in, sometimes I will hit some hard enduro to beat the shit out of them when they are new.
I hate that man, it’s always that way. More protection, less movement.

Question for the tube guys. I know the answer deep down, but I'm just wanting confirmation

I bought some Tusk D Sports to run on my little Rally. I wanted to buy Tusk 4mm HD tubes, but only got the front(rear out of stock). Will it matter if I run a Bridgestone rear tube(same 4mm thickness)? Or should I buy an additional front Bridgestone and keep the Tusk as a spare? I typically try to stay with the same brand for some crazy reason

The new bags are awesome! I got in just before the price increase (and the release of the new color, but hopefully mine are limited now..) I really like them!
I know if I go on a multi day trip, I will want to buy a bigger tail dry bag. But I think I will go for something like this from Tusk, size small 22L:
    https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-side-load-dry-duffel-bag-p

I think my front is Pirelli and rear is Bridgestone. Should be ok, as long as the thickness are the same?

Thickness is 4mm for both. I know it shouldn't matter, I just like to use matching stuffs for some strange reason

Wont matter one bit even different thicknesses. Keep the thin stock front tube as a backup. You can use the front in the front or the rear (you can slide the tube in on itself to make smaller diameter) to get you home.

I personally use cornstarch to avoid chafing as bad on the tube n tire but I dont often run in wet conditions.
