Im torn, i like the "competition" aspect of the time based. But the weekly thing i feel is much more reachable by more people... ANND we will get to see more pics of bikes in cool places.

    I vote photography thread style.

I'm in favor of a simple photography challenge where a subject matter is named, e.g., mountains, and then we all have 1 week to submit 1 photo of our bike in a scene that matchs that weeks challenge. At the end of the week we have a poll where the photo with the most votes wins, and the winner then gets to pick the subject matter for the next week's challenge.

    I propose 6 simple rules

-keep it reasonably achievable for all, but try to make it somewhat interesting or new if possible.
-motorcycle must be ridden by you (pillion, rider, or sidecar) to the location of the photo (no limitations on what bike...so even if you're traveling, or borrowing a friend's bike, or you rent one, you can participate)
-picture should be taken after challenge is presented, with bike and challenge object in the same frame
-1 week to submit all photos, 1 submission per participant, vote on the winner at the end of each week (or have the challenge presenter pick, this part doesn't really matter)
-each winner has to sit out the next 2 rounds (the round they choose the challenge, and the next)
-if no submissions after 7 days, the last person who presented the challenge can modify it. In the event they're MIA, whoever is OP of the thread can change it

Feel like those keep it somewhat structured, but open enough that most anyone could participate if they own or know how to ride a motorcycle. Let me know your thoughts.

EDIT: Rule #7: have fun and ride safe

I vote the week challenge for one reason. It will get us the best quality photos and not be a race to snap a picture.

I like the 1 week, but can we post more than one picture and nominate which one we would want for the entry? Post one for entry, more if you want

I was considering incorporating that. Either pick which you want to be entered, or delete old to replace with new so the thread doesn’t get too cluttered with submissions

Been working on this little utility trailer to tow bikes and also be universal for anything. It’s still got more work to go but it’s getting closer

A little trailer like that has so much utility. I have one mainly setup for my stand up jetski and the GF's smaller sit down jet ski, BUT under her skis bunks (which come off the trailer in ~10min) is a motorcycle rail for solo trips with the stand up and a motorcycle of my choosing.

yup thats kinda the plan with it! ive always needed a small trailer that can carry stuff that doesnt fit in my bed or i just dont want t put in my bed! it will also be helpful to my dad or sister since they can both use it for what ever they might need and wont have to drive 20+mins out to get my dads larger trailer.

funny enough this trailer has been around in the family since the late 80s? first my dads to haul some mowers on, then my uncle to haul a old harley then buel on it, then my grandfather for a small utility trailer on the property and then was given to me when i was 16 to haul an atv on but it was never used back then lmao im just now starting to mess with it.

Yeah small utility trailers are very useful, and it's better to beat up the trailer rather than your truck.

I bought a 5x10 tandem axle trailer for $600 it had brand new galvanized wheels and new tires, worth it for just the wheels and tires. But you could poke your finger right through the rotted pine deck. So I stripped it.
    20190527_121438.jpg
I found 1 bent crossmember, cut that out and replaced it.
    20190527_134309.jpg
I welded in heavy duty d rings every foot all the way around.
    20190627_201258.jpg
I welded up the sides with 1-1/2" square tube. Floor is now 2 inch oak, sides are 1 inch ash. Trailer now has removable Dutch doors. I welded on brackets for mag lights. They are now up nice and high and I will never lay under a trailer again fixing light wiring. And I can see the lights in my rear view mirror to see if they are working. If they take a shit it's only $30 for a new set.
Loaded with 2 tons of lanscape bricks.
    20190805_184116.jpg
At menards picking up shingles, better to beat the trailer than the taco.
    20210710_115722.jpg
Wheel chock is quick detach, notice the d rings for tie down.
    20230318_120646.jpg
Perfect for bringing the new bonneville home.

I have hauled dirt, broken concrete, roof tearoffs, lumber, you name it. Yup a utility trailer is very usefull. And the taco has no problem towing it with a 2 ton load. Although I wouldn't take it on the highway with that much weight.

Not sure if you already have a wheel chock but this Pitbull one is nice. It's quick release so you can easily remove it when you aren't using the trailer to haul bikes

nah i dont the trailer is going to have sides built this week so the tires will hit the the front and keep it from moving. ive looked at the wheel chocks but they are to pricey in my opinion

thats a great deal for 600! i think i have a pic of mine when i pulled it out of the overgrowth 3 somethin years ago let me look lol.

the end goal is a lot of work to be done on this trailer. sides being built, new wheel bearings, fenders, another coat of paint, side lights/corner markers, and then eventually a dove tail and a small ramp built into it, and eventually as well adding a rtt rack at the front so when i go camping with the bike i can use my tent but i want it so it can come on and off my dad wants it just welded on. but for a free trailer thats roughly 4x8 its gonna be great to use

i agree on not damaging the truck lol i never cared with my old tacoma but the ranger id rather keep it nicer if i can haha

I think mine is a pingel brand. Was pretty cheap. It doesn't clamp the wheel, just locates it. A bracket mounts to the floor and the chock just hooks onto it. Quick and easy to remove as the bracket stays on the floor.
