Took a long ride to try out the new jacket and make sure the tank bag did bag things.
First of all. I FUCKING LOVE THIS NEW JACKET! Started around 50 degrees at 10am with all 3 layers and a thin fleece as a base.
Was completely warm, could have been another 10 cooler and I would have been fine. Dropped the fleece about an hour into it, then the first liner another hour after that. Riding with just the shell and waterproof liner is just about perfect.
On the way down I wore the outer shell only and yes it definitely breathes. Had to put the liner back in after 30 minutes as it was a bit chilly. Should be fine for a summer jacket.
    Chambers Lake.

Favorite camp site, beaver has been busy this year, the dam wasn't there last summer.

Should work pretty decent for a hammock setup for next summer.I have a Hennesey Hammock that is just for bike camping.

    Deadman Road.

Laramie River Road, to the left and way below. Came up that way.

Saw a T7 ride by today as I was walking the dog, without thinking I did a catcall whistle at it, I hope he heard me

Got out for last big ride of the season.

Been only riding since august and have learned a lot.

I conquered a track that my trucks have all been up numerous times but I got cold feet in September. Went back today and took my victory shot.

    IMG_6483.jpg

I’ve been on a few dual tracks and single tracks and have really enjoyed it, but I find myself enjoying service roads much more.

I like the continuous speed, lots of gear changes and less risk of injury

    IMG_6484.jpg

I’m gonna start looking at t7s this next year, I need more highway grunt and less dirt bike agility.

I've seen the Kove. It's definitely a possibility depending on reliability and parts availability. Only time will tell. I do hope it does well.

Was out for a ride Sunday and stopped by the Harley dealership here in PA where I had worked part time just to visit some old friends and see what was happening. Sales floor was crowded with a ton of bikes, new and used. What I couldn't get over was the ridiculously low mileage on several of the used bikes. 2021 Pan America with around 1600 miles? That bike is built to ride, what a waste. A used Sportster with 523 miles? A 2017 or 18 Electra Glide with under 2k miles?

Why does someone even buy a bike like this and not ride it? I get not everyone rides the amount of mileage that I do and that's fine but I can't imagine spending that kind of money and a year or 2 later the loss you must take selling or trading it back in.

time, money, or the want for a bike and then realizing it isnt for you. ive seen it a bit out here mainly on harleys where people buy them and then have none of the first two for it or they ride it and get one scare and call it and sell the bike. last option is the yearly people who change out to a new model every year for new "tech" which as we know on a harley is nothing... i mainly see this with sportbike guys but nothing really changes that much every single year...

I had a 2003 Honda VTX, loved it, but I learned that leaning freaked me out. Spooked me off of bikes for a long time. It wasn't until I got the CB500X that I learned it's the seating position of a cruiser that I didn't like. It felt unnatural to be seated with my feet out in front and leaning over. It was the first bike I ever had and I didn't know better. I thought that I just wasn't a motorcycle guy, as much as I liked them. If those were bought by newer riders, or even riders who just wanted to try out a cruiser and then learned it's not for them... well, then you wind up with near new bikes in the used lot.

The Pan America might have been one of the ones that had some hiccups. I've read that some of them had some issues, and they might have dumped it to get rid of the headache.

I like the fog lights on the first one more, the ones on the second one are too close together.

If I were close to either bike I'd ride it to you. I've always liked Super Teneres and it would be a fun day trip.

To be honest, I only put 1k miles on my CB1000R. I just liked looking at it more than riding it.

I was talking to an acquaintance who told me he had his bike out more this year than ever. I said good for you. Then he told me he’d had it out 3 times.

    :smack:

I was able to get mine out 4 days in a row last week—5 days out of 7. The weather has suuuuuucked here this year. Looks like I might get it out again today!

I realize I'm one of the "unusual" types that would rather ride than travel by any other means. I track my days ridden, mileage, etc. Today is day 283 on the calendar and to date I have ridden 220 of them and approaching 18k miles.

I ride almost everywhere as well. I'll only drive to get groceries (or today, going to the mini moto track day so loading up the Toyota).

I'd ride more often but I like to eat lunch in my truck (quiet separation from work) and my kid is still in a car seat/day care mode.

I rode every other day after work and went on a bunch of day trips this year.

It's tucked away now for canadian winter, sigh.

now you see what I mean lol

But it is what it is, people have their own lives.

In other news, both bikes are down for me right now :( BMW is in the shop for a general service plus getting it ready for the track in Nov, Dirtbike is still hard to kick over, guy still has it and will be continuing to look it over to figure out what the problem is.

I love my truck, but driving it just ain't the same as riding. Plus my headunit is having issues so I can't play any music, so it's just me and the sound of my MT tires droning on the freeway
