Pretty simple… 2 piece lock with a draw string release… draw back is if you have multiple bikes there’s a good chance you’ll need multiple tank rings

Good info! I was wondering how the lock worked. I'm a one bike guy so I don't know that it'll be an issue. I might get rid of it if I get that bike though. I bought a Diablo tank bag from Giant Loop, and I really like it's attachment scheme. IDK. We'll see how everything plays out, and I may not wind up with the bike that has the bag anyway.

I appreciate the info on it. How is the bag for waterproofing? Is there enough room to hold a Nalgene bottle in it?

Can’t speak to this particular bag in the wet.. but I’ve had other SW bags that have been fine in light- moderate rain. If the sun comes out the material dries pretty quick.
This bag is the SW-Motech Quick-Lock EVO Daypack … I’ve had it for 4 or 5 years. Since discontinued but it expands upwards to 9l… according to SW.

I generally wear size L gloves and today at lunch… I stuffed my full gauntlet handroids, bmw 2 in 1 gloves and my garmin into the bag. I’d say it’s capable of swallowing a Nalgene bottle

Fortnine did a new video on handlebar phone mounts. Not sure about the mtn bike content, but it did put the mounts to the test.

This is what I use and haven't had any issues yet. Only complaint is it blocks the camera lens enough to prevent videos.

Front brake wasn’t working that great today. :annoyed: Looks like it’s time to replace the fork seals. My daughter was doing really good riding today.

Was feeling like it was time for a change so I took the stock Grom SP decals off, put the pearl white panels back on the bike, and added some gold hexagon flair. Not sure if I like it or not yet, I keep going back and forth depending on the angle

It was maybe $3 in cricut material, so if I end up ripping it all off then I just lose out on an afternoon in the garage, not bad at all.

I can cut vinyl, but don't have the ability to print it, so I'm fairly limited on what I can do.

And for those bonus points I haven't watching anything gundam for probably 20 yrs lmao

But you knew what it was! :fistbump:

The face could be done with a few colors, that's why I chose it. The Gundam one was just a happy google finding. LOL The hex one looks good on the bike, but looks like it's missing a tiny something. Just some depth. Can't quite put my finger on it. I could be wrong though, because you said it's pearl white but looks cement or even lunar rock in that pic, so I'm not sure I'm seeing it accurately. Do you have a broadside pic with natural light?

Used to watch it back in the toonami days when I was a teenager haha

Here’s a pic I took earlier in the process. I took a few more of the hex pieces off to try and open the design up a bit, and honestly will probably take more off tomorrow.

    IMG_9173.jpg

I also have some rydesafe retroreflective decals I plan on putting on my helmet in some kinda pattern for some more winter visibility that gave the the idea to do this on the grom.

I got into Gundam Wing on Toonami when I was in school as well.

Ok, now that I see the white as white that gold looks way better.

    I rode an S1000RR yesterday!

    upload_2023-10-22_8-10-4.png

Bike is so fast and sounds like a dang jet engine on the highway. Cruise control is so nice and is a must on a Versys replacement for me. It's so easy to haul ass without even trying through corners, let alone the straights.

The clutch felt kind of weird but the quickshifter is so good it's like they don't want you to use the clutch other than to start/stop.

The bike ended up having some battery issue so it would shut off randomly while riding, and finally shut off and wouldn't turn back on about half a mile from the end of our ride while I was splitting lanes. I had to push the bike onto the sidewalk and my cousin had to come back with a jump pack for us to get it going again (I couldn't push it very far since I was in full leathers and it was hot out).

Well... I couldn't resist. 100$ for both. A 93 and a 96 Honda Dio brought from Japan and sitting for 20yrs. 50cc 2 stroke scooters. One has 6km and the other has 5km on the odo!

The only real issue I see is a very rusty gummed up tank. But Already got one running with some fresh fuel from a clean bottle.

Accidentally broke a trail rule for my last ride of the year. It said no 4x4 which means any vehicle apparently. (Based on months there’s trails)

Next year gonna learn more about trail closures and laws.

No major injuries and lots of smiles my first year.

We were missed by the big fires this year, but man it was bad all over canada.

I'm just used to dead trees now, but this oddly was a very small section of it, our area is fairly healthy.

The damn beetles tend to mess up our trees the most out here.

We had no fires this year either but previous years have left most of it decimated. The ground cover is coming back so that helps. The beetles did their best to create standing dead trees which burned up pretty quick. It's a whole different look now.
