I really need to repaint the mailbox!

I bought that over 20 years ago at a bike swap meet. Very dear friend of mine for my dealership days then painted it to match our shutters and front door. Sadly she's no longer with us so I'm on my own now to try and make it right again. When I first put it up I worried about it getting vandalized but thankfully it's still intact. I don't think the company that made it is around anymore.

Appreciate that. She just passed in March of this year at 47 years old. Undiagnosed colon cancer until it was caught far too late. Honestly one of the sweetest people I had the honor to call my friend in my life.

That Saddleman seat definitely looks.... interesting.

Bike looks so good otherwise! I really like the color.

Funny thing, every FJR that I've owned yet has been a "one year only" color. 2007 was Black Cherry Pearl, 2013 is Stone Grey, and my 2014 is Dark Red. Every other year the blue, black, or silver has been used more than once.

I really like the look of the Saddleman seat on the bike but beyond just sitting on it and pulling it back into the garage I haven't put any miles on it yet.

Took the grom into work today... I now regret pulling the front fender off and not putting the beak or any other kind of upper fender on. Sprayed myself with muddy slush and water the whole way in  I and the bike are now filthy.

Seems to do fine on the stock tires in the snow and slush though, which is great.

When I bought my 2014 grom, the previous owner had taken the whole stock fender off and put on a lil tiny tail tidy. One ride on it through a couple puddles and my whole back was soaked. Stock fender went right back on.

Purely brand loyalty lol. Nothing wrong with Baja designs I just started off with Diode Dynamics and have stuck with them.

i think DD is a hair cheaper on average as well, and they have an SAE pattern if that matters to you. I think Baja designs does now as well but haven't really looked through their offerings in a while

Made it home at lunch before it started sticking on the roads, but mistakes were made:

Took the 4Runner in for the afternoon, since my wife left at lunch too to WFH and I can steal her parking permit :)

Also, not motorcycle related but garage/tools related - I bought some more Milwaukee tools and spent the last few days printing mounts to organize everything neatly:

Well, I went down a rabbit hole and ended up buying new lights instead of using the Amazon specials I had :D

    upload_2023-12-1_14-19-21.png

Might still work on the switch holder and a bar to mount the lights onto this weekend, or might get pushed to winter break. I get from Dec 22nd to Jan 2nd off, whoop.
