I don't use any solder on MC harnesses and I've made quite a few from scratch over the years. I copy what the manufacturers do which is use all metal crimps, crimp on connectors and heat shrink, preferably glue type. I also worked in the electronics and electrical industry for 40 years and we used solder when it involved circuit boards, otherwise very rarely and never when connecting two wires together.

    https://www.amazon.com/Haisstronica-Non-Insulated-Connectors-Electrical-Terminal/dp/B08K78S7JW?crid=ROB2PS39H451&keywords=all+metal+barrel+crimps&qid=1702321896&sprefix=all+metal+barrel+crimps%2Caps%2C139&sr=8-5

    https://www.amazon.com/Eventronic-Heat-Shrink-Tubing-Kit-3/dp/B0BVVMCY86?crid=1IJ9W6SCMP9MT&keywords=glue+heat+shrink&qid=1702321941&sprefix=glue+heat+shrink%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-2&th=1

Motorcycle wiring is are pretty easy compared to a full on street legal harness with instrumentation for a 4 wheel vehicle.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I am going to focus hard on getting some things done around here. TW has been awesome to help build out my truck, and BS’ing with you guys has been a blast.

I don’t have a Facebook or any other social media, the only outlet I use has been TW. But when you start finding yourself online when you could be getting other shit done, well I have reached my threshold.

Gonna leave my acct active so I can receive emails, just not going to be contributing on the regular.

Loyalty and reciprocation are really the most important things these days. Hard combo to find.

I get it and can understand. I'm in the somewhat unique position of being able to access this forum while I'm at work so it doesn't really take away too much of my actual "off the clock" hours. That being said, this is the best of any social media that I take part on. Pop in periodically, we'll still be here.

Dang sorry to hear man, you'll be missed but I also get it as far as efficiency goes. I only check in here when it's slow at work so it doesn't really inhibit me from doing things I need/want to do, but I get that for you.

Hopefully you'll be able to make a return once you knock out some of those things you need to take care of!

Sent you a PM as I have been seriously considering NC.

Totally understand the desire to focus on oneself and things that need to get done without distractions etc. I wish you the best man, you will always have a place here. I will miss the moto content and banter from you here!

Gotta have priorities, right? I hope everything goes smooth for you, and if I'm ever in NC I'll try to look you up. Best of luck, and you will be missed!

    XT225 Grom replacement project updates.

Bike back together for now (still playing with float levels and needle shims for the perfect crisp running but it's daaaamned close right now).

Finished up Givi rear rack mounting hardware, need to sort some of the bumper locations but that's easy. First ride a few miles away to Amazon for a return and it's a hoot. Really surprises me with how smooth it is for a little single, I should have been riding it more in the last 4 years that I have had it. WAAAAY smoother than the grom, probably due in part to a dampened counterbalance shaft it has and WAAAAY less sketchy feeling. About the ONLY three things I'm missing right now are the super small size of the Grom (which isn't that much smaller or lighter) , the just get on and go with fuel injection, and brakes which work well on the xt225 but compared to the Grom with it's tiny tires the brakes dont compare ... minor details in the big scheme of things.
