May not be any issue at all, it was just every video I found at that time showed them working with dirt bike tires leading me to believe it to be more off road oriented. They mentioned street bikes but I didn't see any videos back in 2020 showing it. I actually liked the breakdown style of it and ability to easily transport. It was most likely my prior experience using the Nomar that swayed me as much as anything. Certainly not trying to disparage the Rabaconda in any way.

 

They’ve got a street bike changer and a dirt bike changer that are completely separate! They do seem to advertise the dirt bike one more though, so I can see the confusion.

 

Yeah, they have a dirt and a street. Dirt one is basically just a break-down-able stand and bead breaker. But the street version has a ratcheting duckbill and a funky angle to it. If I were to buy one it'd definitely be the street version.

I definitely did NOT see that in 2020 when I bought the Nomar. Not sure which way I might have gone had I seen it. I can say I paid less than that for my Nomar delivered with the promo at the time.

At this point it's only one more hour. Hardly worth missing the pay over. Not sure if I'll open it right away or not anyway. It is supposed to be for Christmas.

 

Sheesh, 600$, I guess it makes things easier but outside of the grom tires I have never had too much of an issue with ~20 bucks in spoons, a 5dollar home depot bucket

 

Ah, I'm use to my 12hr shifts...............so I'd be looking at 6 Luckily, I'm only 6 miles from home and my coworkers/manager have never had a problem with me running home for a second

As far as waiting til Christmas...........yeah.....you always need to open one early

It's definitely a want for me and far from a need. It's a lot of tires worth of $. I've seen them on sale for under $500, but yeah, still really expensive.

This is even less than I paid for my Nomar even with the price of shipping.

 

You don't scratch the rim with spoons?

Anyways, I like spending money on tools so for me the $640 wasn't too big of a deal, especially once I factored in the convenience. Either way it ends up paying for itself.

 

In my experience, most of the "prices" are pretty straight up, the only fees that get tacked on after are the standard dealer fees like paperwork, assembly if new, etc.

They don't really negotiate down much at all though, what you see is what you get for the most part. Personally the only dealership I didn't enjoy dealing with was Del Amo Motorsports.

 

dirtbike rims, IDGAF about spoon scratches (and I have gotten to the point that any scratches incurred are on the inside of the rim from the spoons). Street rims, ill take a little more care and only do metal on metal on the inside of the lip, and take a piece of cut length wise vacuum tube over the rim lip to pry up and over on. (just make sure you keep an eye on the location of the vacuum tube pieces as you go and that you have just as many as you started with at the end.... there's only one place for them to disappear to and that's inside the tire.... ask me how I know, the realization DEFINITELY didn't occur once the tire was fully mounted and aired up on the bike -_- )

Also... all the street rims are black, and black sharpie is cheap.

My 20 year old HF tire changer is in my shed gathering dust.

Tire changing is not worth my time and effort these days.

The forged mag wheels on my bikes are waaaay too valuable to trust myself to change tires. I have someone I happily pay $50 a piece to because he goes the extra mile to make sure they're always safe. I've had a nomar, it was convenient enough, but it's long gone
