Well dang. I guess there’s no fixing my Aerostich. Kind of disappointing.

Then we went down some weird youtube conspiracy rathole about goretex.

Roadcrafter leaky zippers have been an issue for years and years. This isn't breaking news. Mr. Goretex isn't out to get us from the great beyond.

 

Maybe if you wear an extra large cup, it will bulge out that area rather than providing a space for water to pool? lol

Again, I did not say your suit was waterproof. I guess I should have said the one piece suit zippers are "supposed to be" waterproof, so good for you. You got me.

I tried yesterday and got a voice mailbox. I guess I’ll try again tomorrow.

I don’t remember my first suit lashing this badly. It was still a little damp this morning but I wore it anyways.

My helmet was also still a little damp and very smelly. Definitely need to wash the lining tomorrow! Then I can dry it with my boot dryer when I get it.

 

Will lighting it on fire help it dry faster?

What about the dual-sport/dirt guys? We want bad roads too. That's not inclusive enough

95% of my riding is on road

It sounds like you need a street bike as well, or at least an extra set of wheels/tires

hey everyone need some adive here! the carb on my dads 350 doesnt move at alll! i you try and move it by hand it does nothing its very very stuck (maybe from gas sitting in it?) is this something that can be fixed on a carb or is this something that it gets replaced with a new carb?

 

I did just get out from under a decent monthly payment.........might have to look after a few months of putting that money aside

I do want to get offroad though…I’d absolutely have a dirtbike right now if I had the trail access I used to. Will get something eventually, so many bikes to ride and places to explore. Maybe I’ll get the 701 dirty some day lol

 

my goal for this year (if my health works out well...) is to get a dirt bike for trails and a street bike we shall see how that works out lol

 

Ooooook..... Ill admit the CRF250/300L have never really given me the fizz.... but hot dayum, that is a good looking bike!

If its been sitting with fuel in the carb its likely evaporated up into everything and varnished which ends up being like glue. Pull the carb and start gently disassembling. If you cant get something to come apart, spray with carb cleaner and let sit for a bit. Also not sure on that particular carb but there are potentially some tapered seals on the throttle blade shaft which need to be helped through the bore of the shaft when removing / inserting otherwise the seal will be ripped. Needless to say take care when removing the throttle shaft look down through the intake etc if/when you get to that point. Also note 99% of the time the screws holding the throttle blade onto the shaft are "staked", When you put things back together ABSOLUTELY clean the threads of the screws/shaft and use red Loctite.

JIS Screwdriver is a MUST when working on Metric carbs. I can not express this enough..... SPEND THE MONEY ON A JIS SCREWDRIVER.

When re-assembling a carb I always coat all the rubber parts (o rings/diaphram contact sufraces) with a light coat of Super Lube so the O rings etc move freely and can conform to surfaces easier.

YESSSS. You COULD combine them into one purchse of a good dual sport, but jack of all trades things....

thanks for the adivce on the carb! ill do that! i had a jis screwdrive but i think my dad took it....

and yes i could but here is the issue i have a dual sport that i made a sm and i dont plan to get rid of it i mean why would i? its cheap af to own and built how i want to. i want a true dirtbike thats light and simple for offroad use only. if it goes on the street its only to go from trail to trail like i did in Co. id also prefer fuel injection for it. for a street bike i want a actual sport bike something quick but nothing toooo fast since someone has already told me no and welll she said no so ill listen lol. so looking at either a cbr500r, ninja 400, mt07. i prefer the cbr since its larger and feels a lot comfier to me but ill take either of em

 

Totally get ya there on fuel injection / more modern and more street worthy. CB500X? would allow for some mild off road with wayyyy better than plated dirtbike street manners.
