Totally get that! The Honda 500 parallel regardless of platform is a phenomenal motor. Nope its not the most power but for 99% of riding, its going to do amazing, last a LONG time with little maintenance, and get great MPG's.

the Honda 500's do carry a smidge of a price premium. If you are looking for more of a sport bike, an SV650/SV650S 2003 or newer model year is a great option. 90* V twin with great usable power thats on a bulletproof proven platform with TONS of aftermarket support.

yup ive been seeing a few at 80k miles with no issues and 65mpg sounds great and they do come with a price but id rather pay it eventually tbh.. the sv650 isnt bad but not what i truly want and yes i know picky but it do be how i am haha

for dirt i want a ktm 2 or 4 stroke 2015 or newer

for street i want the ones i mentioned earlier but would prefer the cbr500r

Next tear they are replacing the CB500X with the NX500. You might like the styling more, but it's still upright rather than a sport tuck position.

Wht they don't just put spoked wheels on that is beyond me. The baby CRF's, Transalp, and Africa Twin all get them

I really want one of these. Hopefully they actually release them. Surprised no announcement yet for the US market.

Lower cost and their cast wheels haven't been a problem. They are lighter too.

It'll be 2025 for the US. That's in line with the 3 year update schedule for the CB500X, as it just had an update in 2022.

I love the look of this bike. I'd definitely consider one if I were in the market. I like it more than the Versys 300X as well.

I also like the cast wheels, too. It's perfect for my uses.

Wife and I are planning to get our endorsements this year and bikes' in Q2 2025 (kitchen remodel will be paid off in April). Hopefully that works out for me on a 2025 release. I was a very happy man when my wife, out of nowhere, said we should get bikes when the kitchen is paid for, lmao.

I get that they probably won't be a problem for 99% of people. The fact that they put them on the other 3 offerings is baffling. ADV bikes need spoked wheels.

We prolly joke all too often about offing the other one, since we'd be setup pretty well. We took out big policies to cover both our homes when we bought the second one. We've paid down a LOT since then, so It'd pay off both mortgages with a lot to spare, hahaha.

She wants, of all things, a Rebel 500. Thought going with the CB500X (NX) would be handy for ease of maintenance and stuff since so much of the bikes are the same. That new RE Himalayan 450 looks pretty sweet, too, but a bit down on power. Will be interesting to hear how it does when it hits the states.

That would work too. Cast wheels would be no problem for me.......it's just a looks thing.
