Also suffer from panic attacks. They are so hard to rationalize. Like you said, you know you have nothing to be anxious about but blam, your body is reacting to something. Been medicated on and off for depression and anxiety since I was in high school, still get a few a year and keep xanax in my car and bag at all times. I constantly have to remind myself its all just chemical imbalances and not a reflection of me as a person. Glad you're recognizing what is going on and taking the initiative to seek out help, Kevin

Being the cynical asshole I am. Most of the time I think people that are always posting how great things are........are just full of shit and are too afraid to admit it :D Life can never be great all the time. Shit happens to EVERYONE.

Why I enjoy TW.......cause we can all be assholes and most are still cool with it

Back to back to back.... Seems to be my thing now haha. Sorry not sorry.

    Xt225 update!

Solid core 7mm diameter spark plug wire came in at napa (got 2 ft to the tune of $3.50) so I set out to swap the wire out and a few other things.

All of 5 bolts to remove both sides panels, seat and tank. This was one of the reasons I stripped it down yet again. Replacement of 2 seat bolts and tank bolt with the same style 5mm hex cap head bolt as the side panels. This allows me to carry just one 5mm Allen key to get to this point if repairs were needed out in the field.

    20240120_184054.jpg

Pulled the coil wire n cap apart, most of these are literally a screw in style to make contact. The coil side of the wire was originally lightly glued into the coil.

    20240120_190532.jpg

New wire screwed into the coil and a smidge of epoxy to make things water tight.

    20240120_192923.jpg

While that cured enough to handle I did a quick valve check as my maintenance logs didn't show I had ever done it but I thought I had when I originally got it. Everything was perfect in spec and. I love how simple this machine is to work on.

    20240120_192847.jpg

While I was there I checked head bolt torque. 2 of the 4 were a smidge loose from spec but likely would of never caused an issue.

Coil wire and cap all buttoned back up. Made it a smidge longer than stock so if in the future the tip of the wire on the cap end needs to be cut because of corrosion it can be without full wire replacement. Tbh I doubt it will ever need to be touched (and likely didn't need to be touched in the first place lol)

    20240120_200836.jpg

She fired right back up and runs great! (No change from previous) but peace of mind is huge. Also welded up the clutch side foot peg (it had been bent from a fall and a center non structural piece had cracked).

The jetting and running is now damn near spot on. The xt225 is my most used bike these days for sure. Super tenere for longer rides, but the Grom is gonna get gone as the xt225 is so much better for the around town use.

just a couple of things tbh
panic and anxiety attacks are not fun.. i use to get them almost every night until i did some changes and ive finally been without them for over a year or so now.... social media is fun to look at but most of the time they are not doing that trip multiple times like they claim most of the time it seems to be a thousand and one photos from that trip and they just get reposted to make it look like multiple trips.... so i always look at it as more of a cool pic and not that there life is better but thats me we are all different on how we do things. keep fighting thou man its worth it.

been there before... buddy left my place and crashed his truck and never made it home. always think back if there could have been something to not let him go or change his outlook if things would have changed.

Everyone has their struggles no shame in admitting that! There still seems to be a stigma around mental health and that's unfortunate, seeking help is the best thing for you same as you would for a physical illness/issue. My wife is an LPC and she helps people with similar diagnosis everyday, therapy can be very beneficial when you find the right person. And absolutely no shame in taking meds either. Hope everything works out well for you man

I've suffered from depression more than half my life I've probably have had atleast 10 panic attacks in the last week. Not fun. I don't normally talk about my issues. This forum helps keep my sanity

Was all pumped to ride into work this morning, open the garage door and it's pouring down rain. My wife and I share a parking permit, she's working from home today, so I begrudgingly drove the 4Runner in. The first two parking lots were full so I parked out in the middle of nowhere and had to walk like ten minutes in, getting JUST AS WET AS I WOULD HAVE RIDING. Lesson learned, always ride. :pout:

13 degrees this morning and still snow on my street. Haven't been on a bike since January 3. This is the longest I've gone without riding in several years. Beginning to feel the symptoms of PMS.

I feel your pain, January 5th for me :annoyed:

Edited to add: I started doing what you do and marking it on a calendar on my wall at work. I'm curious how many days a year I ride and wanted to track it this year.

Nothing wrong with reaching out for help, or venting in here, I think I speak for all of us when I say we support you (and anyone else in here who might need a little support or to get things off their chest). As someone who's dated a few girls who suffer from generalized anxiety, I fully get how much of a struggle it can be to deal with. And how well some people can hide it.

Yup. I have quite a few "influencer" friends, and knowing what goes on in the backgroud of their lives while seeing the over the top, keeping-up-with-the-joneses posts they make, really helps keep me from comparing my lives with theirs. Someone can look extremely successful and happy on their social media, but be an absolute mess behind the camera. Social media only shows you the highlight reel of someone's life, not everything else.

brother....even here in San Diego i know that's unforgivable...

I am reminded again this morning how nobody in southern california knows how to drive in the rain. 2 rollovers and a fender bender on the freeway coming into work this morning...and nobody was driving faster than 50 so I can't even fathom the scenario that would lead a vehicle to rollover unless someone pit-maneuvered them.
