Sorry to hear. Glad you are still upright and walking about. Sounds like it could have been a lot worse. Bikes repair a lot easier than people. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Sounds like passing on the 929 is the way to go. Are you into fishing? I've been riding less now that my daughter is getting older, I and spend a lot more time on the water. It doesn't get the adrenaline pumping as much but is just as fun, and is a lot more relaxing. I can't wait until I get to retire. Enjoy this time!

No not into fishing. I would like to buy a metal detector and do some of that. It would get me outside more.

Not going to make it any better, but I got ya beat. Brand new CBR1000, had it 3 days, 264 miles, mini van blind backed out of a parking spot, fairings were trashed, shifter hit the frame, done. $11,500 in damage on an $8,000 bike I had to have shipped from Texas as it was the last new 2008 in the country and Honda was doing $2000 cash back. Walked into the ER, 45 min in and out, X-rays etc. everything was fine, $5,000 bill. Never paid that and it kinda just went away

I definitely feel like my guardian angel was on overtime that morning and looking out for me. Walking away with no major injuries kind of seems too good to be true. I guess all the luck I had left went into keeping me whole.

Holy smokes that sounds like the worst! Glad you walked away from it. It always blows my mind just how oblivious some folks are.

    strong dislike.

I feel for you. Same happened to me in December. Good friend. Decades riding, his bike was down and being serviced (early December).

Let him have a go on my latest, and my DD for '23.

Dumped it in traffic departing from a stop. Being a Guzzi it went down on the cylinder head, did valve cover damage, fortunately nothing to the unobtanium fairings/tanks, and most importantly the custom carbon exhaust which hasn't been available since 2011. The boutique shop that builds them in the Italian Alps lost their carbon supply and deemed all others inferior, so that was it. It was spared. spent the winter getting the parts necessary (most came from Australia - Guzzi is held in highest regard there for some reason)

Any way, I feel ya. Glad those parts are available.

saw that on IG...wondered how much of a delay this will cause to the new bike you wanted lol

Oof yeah I would imagine Guzzi's are tough to obtain parts for out here. Glad that custom exhaust managed to make it out alive and glad to hear the bike is still going! Mine's a grizzled war machine now with what it's been through the last year. Hoping to keep her running much longer

Yeah I got pretty lucky with the parts. New headlights (shoutout to our very own @mattgecko) and replacement steering damper have already shown up, front fairing stay and air inlet duct en route. Really just gonna be a waiting game for the fairings as I've already confirmed the design as of Wednesday. Figured I'd take this opportunity to change things up a bit lol.

yuuup now id like to state no im not buying a bike for the gf but i will help her out if she wants the help (mainly like gear and such). then work on a new enclosed trailer when ever i buy it! so it can hold both bikes when going to places and have it setup as a light duty camper on the inside as well. plus some house stuff that me and her want to do so uhh ya idk when ill buy another bike lmao. plus the new coupe project... also ignore the pfp its a joke from another thread lol

hell, I'd help buy a gf a bike if it meant she'd get into riding lol. but gear just as important. enclosed trailer will be nice lol I already hate that I have to rent a U-hail every time I go to track but I don't have space for my own solution. and like you said could do double duty as an adventure trailer.

Is the coupe project basically just moving all the guts of the old to the new? Saw the new one is basically just a donor frame/body panels. how long do you expect that to take?
