The best Long Island I ever had was in Pensacola FL. Can’t remember the name of the place but they came in big Masson jars that had DIESEL FUEL and the name of the restaurant on them. Holy crap two and you are pretty much gone. This was about 35 years ago.

Been Texting Alan the guy I sold my FZ1 too. Anyway he works for Foss tug and is in Texas right now on his next project. The are going through the Panama Canal and up to the arctic. Then he should be home after that. Brings back memories when I worked for NOAA and we sailed from Seattle to Norfolk. We went through the Panama Canal and even spent two days in Panama. To be young and single again. lol Life is good now but I had a lot of good times traveling the world on that ship. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here is a pic of the ship I was on. It was 231’ built in 1967. Is out of commission now.

Man, if deep water didn't freak me out that sounds like it could be a hell of an adventure for a job. That's awesome that you guys have some overlap in background, and that you can get the old ride back.

Right on, man! Keep on, keeping on.

I’m not the best with words at all, but it sounds like you have pulled your head outta your ass some time back. Keep it going dude. Don’t dwell on the past, look to the good stuff today and in the future.

edit: Thank you for your service as well.

Interesting mix of bikes.. 2 ATs, 2 CRF300, a GSA1250, and a KLR. Fun ride. But damn the gates. We will get farther the next ride. Think did about 100 miles total, before splitting off

Just mowed the lawn the first time this year. I absolutely hate mowing the lawn. It triggers up the past when my step father had me mow the lawn and him always getting mad when I missed a spot. He would say “ well I guess if I want it done right I have to do it myself “
What an asshole. I was only like 12. WTF I would never ever say any of those things to my kids. Although he did teach me what not to do. Lol

Cool deal. I’m gonna do my best to make some trips out there this year on the bike (trailer it up and camp). I want to try and find some of the stuff a bunch of us did about 15+ years ago. We were in and out of Va. and W.Va. all day long on forest roads, trails and other stuff. We had set up right down from Todd Lake (further south of Flag Pole.).

I don’t mind cutting the lawn. Jam the earbuds in the head with some music and let ‘er eat. :D

I wouldn't mind if my "yard" (it's a hay field) was level and not such a bitch to maneuver a mower through. I'm actually thinking I'll contact a landscape company and have them come out to chop it all down, spray it for anything but grass, and level it out. That's all stuff that needs to happen before I can ever hope to build on the property anyway.

Gonna ply around with trying to set SAG on the KLX this coming week. I have the gist of it, but unsure of exactly what I should be looking at. More research on the webs tonight for sure.

I adjusted the rear shock on mine. It’s a bitch doing the measurements by yourself. Front is non adjustable.

I always like the look of the naked bikes, but I like the windshield for the function. Which bike is that? I can see the honda wing, but I don't recognize the model.

That's the cb1000r. A strange combination of elements, that actually works. Kinda Harley ish, but single sided swingarm and 120~hp with a bunch of torque
