Oh, that's way too ballsy for me. I like old man fun. I'll stick to the "boring" Super Tenere plan that I have. LOL

I saved a website that explained how to set it but for some reason it won’t connect. There is a certain sag number and after you get that I set the rebound so when I bounce the rear it goes down then back up and settles. If it bounces too much it need more. Compression I just set that to the middle of the adjustment and call it good. I am no expert

    Gotcha.

So far, the vids I've watched show how to get the measurements. then they make adjustments. but they do not say what they are adjusting too, or why. Pretty much what I gather is, it's to balance the bike front to rear with the rider on it (moto-x standing. other bikes, rider in the seated position). Which will effect both the front and rear suspension. and that's where the compression and rebound come in to play a lot more.

if I'm wrong in this, please correct me.

Neat bike for sure. But never sold well as Yamaha was making some bitching naked bikes around that time. (And back in 08 when it came out no one really wanted naked bikes)

I was reading the manual and all it shows is the rebound and compression settings. Also I didn’t know but there is a compression adjustment for the front forks. It at the bottom of the fork leg looking up from underneath. I am still searching for a good sag number. There are two numbers. Static sag which is all weight off the rear tire then just the weight of the bike. Then you get on with your gear and measure that. I think we need to find out the stroke of the rear shock and try and get it in the top 1/3 of the stroke. So you don’t bottom or top out the shock.

@Hafaday Ok the travel of the rear shock on the Klx is 230mm or 9.1” I would set it at 3.5” to 4” of total sag. So weight of bike then you on it and add to two together. You should be good to go. If you crank all the preload into the shock and can’t get the correct number then it need to be re sprung for your weight.

Iam going to have to recheck mine because my weight is dropping.

Rite rite. That's exactly what I just came across a little while ago. Sag should be set in the top (as close to) 30% of the spring compression. Looks like we are on the same page.

Thanks for taking the time to look and help a moron.
Yup. I was going through my service manual for preload adjustments.

You are correct for the front as well. I haven’t played with the front yet.

Edit: Race Tech doesn’t have a heavy enough spring for my fat ass. So, if I do upgrade.. I’ll go with the heaviest the have.

I'm getting slightly discouraged that I've not heard back from the Super Tenere seller in CA. :pout: I wonder if I was too aggressive with my questioning.

Ya I don’t get it. When I am selling something I am available and quick to answer any and all questions. I just don’t understand some people and their thinking process. I guess that why my stuff sells quick. It is super frustrating though. If it’s sold just say it and don’t ignore me.

Well, that and take down the ad! LOL

I sent the contact stuff Thursday around 9 or 10 AM Mountain time, so 8 or 9 Pacific. That give all of Thursday, Friday, and now Saturday to have seen it and at least acknowledge the contact. The price is so damn good it might have already sold, and if the seller used a junk email to set up the ad then I may never hear back.

As long as the ad is up I still have a glimmer of hope, though.

It was! It’s actually been a good day all day. Finally opened the show that’s been kicking my ass last night, so I finally got a day off with a huge weight off my back. Plus feeling good enough in the shoulder to get back on a bike gave me a big spike in self-confidence again. The weather was nice all day, just hate it’s supposed to storm tomorrow.
