Love it. Best all around bike I’ve owned. Sporty and fun on the road, agile and well handling off road and light enough that it doesn’t kick your ass. Mines been reliable but only had about 3500 miles so far.

Yep, that was me. Well I bought it with a blown head gasket, less than 5-6k on the bike too. It actually wasn't too bad of a job to pull the engine and replace it though. I got the bike for like $2500-3k and sold it for a bit more with 3k more miles so it was worth it in the end.

Good news is that my Tuareg has finally arrived in Alaska with all my household goods. Everything only took a month coming from Colorado and gets delivered next Wednesday, just in time for the riding season here. Hopefully it stays trouble free since the closest dealer is 2300 miles away.

What part of AK are you in? I bet the Tuareg will be awesome there!

Right in the middle in North Pole. Should be a lot of fun, last time I was here I had a KLR650 and a BMW 750GS and went everywhere on them.

Right on! I spent a week or so in the area a few years ago. I've done AK by land and by sea and I'm already planning out my next trip! Hoping that 3rd time is a charm to see the Aurora. Can't get enough of that state!

My wife was in Fairbanks for 3 years when we started dating long distance. She found a job down here before I could find a job up there, so she moved down to WA. I still regret not moving up there, I think it would have been a place I'd have enjoyed.

I hope you're not relying on the dealer in Bellevue should anything arise

Nope, on my own. That is the closest dealer though according to Aprilia's website. If something goes wrong I'll try to work a way to get parts sent to me but I doubt that will happen. It's a risk I took bringing the bike up here with me.

Ok, I know the owner pretty well, that's where my bike currently is for suspension work. The parts guy is a moron, if you ever need assistance, I'll be happy to help

Ahahaha. My RSV4 never gave me too many fits, all in all it was pretty reliable, except sometimes it would do random shit, like be down 40ish hp for no particular reason. No codes, no explanation. Just a temper tantrum. The Tuono I have/am bike sitting has its own idiosyncrasies. Sometimes it won't start without a 4 digit passcode code, random cels for no reason. It takes a special person to own Italian

Took a lil rip today. I’ve decided I don’t care for hwy riding at 80. I’d much rather slower backroads. :notsure:

Yeah I couldn't be ok with that kind of " I'm going to potentially leave you stranded" feeling. Cool bikes for sure across the genres and years from Aprilia but. Nope not my cup of tea in the long run..... Even newer bikes from bigger names (KTM/husky/BMW/triumph) having to go to the dealer to reset a maintenance light, or subscription for feature on the bike already built in... Nawww eff that go pound sand.

Passed my license test, but found bad news with my bike.

I've been avoiding highway (250cc dual sport), but had to go on to max speed on the test, found a massive shake. Instructor nearly canceled.

Found out my rims have been distorted for some time, my hubs are true so now I have to either pay someone to true it or try myself.

I may attempt a small adjustment to see if it improves, otherwise I'll get a shop to do it, 2 week wait time :(

I wanna sell my WR now and get a CRF300L lol.

I've never been stranded thankfully. But every time I turn the key and hit the starter and they fire, is a relief

I agree it's annoying when there's break-in tunes or things you need dealer tools to adjust.

Thankfully it's easy to reset the service light on the Super Duke. It did scare me one day when the screen flashed the warning message I thought I was having a major issue ha. I do really like the TFT dash on this bike though, easy to read and navigate through the menus. Way more tech than any bike I've previously owned.

Yeah I will say, buddy just got a 2019 Triumph Tiger 1200 and its full color TFT screen is NICE. That stated, how often am I looking at the screen while riding. That statement goes hand in hand with fancy full screen dash's big ole 22in screens mid dash in cars (cough 2025 4runner)... like WHY but i digress

So true, my goal in life is to escape all these damn screens lol

Cars nowadays are ridiculous with those ipads in the dash. It's crazy riding in a new vehicle then climbing back in my 20 year old truck. Gotta love the simplicity of older vehicles
