I’ve never had a company include a photo of your shipment when they send the tracking number. Pretty cool.

They also asked if I had any recent safety training. Something like the last 3 years, so that might be another discount if you have.

Removed the less than ideal supermoto fender supplied with the fender kit and installed a real fender. First ride I took down a muddy road I had a nice stripe of mud up the front of the bike so hopefully this one works better.

I saw this on Reddit the other day, I think. It's a sampler pack where you can try something like 31 different ear plugs for $20. Might be worth it to find what you like and what fits your ears.

I think Nicky’s Ducati was sold by Autographed Collectibles? It had been on display in their booth at COTA after having been sold for an undisclosed amount.

I remember when GP first came back to Laguna Seca. The paddock area was very accessible with loose security on Wednesday and Thursday. We could walk right out into pit lane and watch them start Nicky and Dani’s RC211v’s to cycle fluids through them before the weekend started. The sound made my hair stand up and the fumes from the exhaust made my eyes water. Those V5’s were something else.

Never heard of him, but I don't follow bike racing.... or any sport really.

I'll keep my dark humor reaction to myself after googling him.

You know it's nice having an actual Speedo that works for once haha. Even tells me when it's low on fuel how fancy. It does have a clock also but idk how to adjust the time on it so I'll have to look at that later on. Enjoying it so far minus that damn air intake! My knee hits it the entire time so gonna have to get a smaller one.

My last day of work for the week. Meeting up with @FreshOldTaco in the wee morning hours in Lancaster, PA to head out on his first Iron Butt ride. We've been in the planning stages for a few months and tomorrow is the day. Weather for the entire state of PA looks very favorable. We've picked the Iron Butt Association Ride Around Pennsylvania for his first Saddle sore.

    https://www.ironbutt.com/themerides/rap/

This ride was already on my list of certificate rides I'd like to do. We'll be KSU at approximately 0100 hours from a Sheetz station in Lancaster, PA and heading east first. If all goes to plan, or at least close to plan, we'll revisit that same Sheetz roughly 24 hours and 1100 miles later. SPOT tacking link below:

    https://spotwalla.com/trip/7e68-1e1f0b8c-5697/view

Stalk us if you wish. Link is usually a few minutes delayed from our true location but gets you pretty close. Link goes live just before 0100.

Taking a nap part way through or just expecting it to be that long of a ride?

forgot to say this bike has been great to ride on the highway with for me personally. im so use to well trash on the highway (love the klx but it is god awful on the highway or anything above 60mph tbh) that vibrates me to high hell and is more of a chore to keep straight on the highway with wind. this bike just goes straight down the highway and cruises at 70-80mph just fine it has a slight buzz to it but very very small and i truly do enjoy it a lot! now time to start yelling at people for grass clibbins haha

    No nap planned.....

The tricky part on this ride became the need to prove we visit the little town of New Freeport in the southwestern corner of the state. Google looks like the only gas station there was permanently closed so no way to get a receipt there. The Spotwalla tracking will show we visited and we can get a receipt a little bit before or after. I planned it though to allow us to get a photo at either their post office or the area Volunteer Fire Department which are side by side. Spent some time using Garmin Basecamp software building the route and planned a 10 minute stop at each of the required cities, then planned being inn New Freeport with sufficient daylight to get a clear photo. Figuring we need to be there by 8:00pm I then worked backwards adding 10 minutes at each location to determine our start time. Now if things go smoothly we should be able to bank some time along the route and finish ahead of schedule but the actual GPS reported time for the ride clocks in around 22 hours 52 minutes. We show only a 1 hour 8 minute cushion. He's expressed some concern as this will be the first time trying a ride of this nature. I've got faith in his abilities but worst case scenario is that if a rest break is needed I'm hoping to either have been ahead of schedule or if necessary we could stop sort of closing the loop but still end up with an in-state Saddlesore at just over 1000 miles.

We've talked about the ride a few times and met for lunch back on Good Friday to go over planning. I've even preplanned some of our fuel stops based upon his bike's projected range which is less than my FJR but still tolerable. I know one rider who did this ride over Easter weekend and she not only did the Ride Around PA she did it including an Ice Cream Saddlesore where she stopped and had ice cream at 4 or 6 locations and had another ride in there as well that I was not familiar with. Our weather will be warmer and no rain forecast. We've got this.

Almost went with that one but it was too small. Actually got a full size polisport fender for it first but wasn’t a fan of the look. This ones from a 2018 KTM 690 Endure actually.

I decided to take off work today since I have days to use… in the garage packing up but otherwise bike is ready to roll. Gonna try to get a few hours of sleep in before leaving tonight.

Glad to hear you’re liking it so far! As for the clock I think you hold in both buttons on the right side to change the time

I washed my bike last night. Some avian miscreant must have decided it made a nice target while I was at work. Got my rear rack and back fender pretty good. Left it at home today and drove my Tacoma to work. Have most stuff loaded, phone mount and GPS are on the bike. I have a cooler sitting on a kitchen chair with some stuff in to pack later before departure. Will check tire pressures when I get home from work.

Best of luck to you both!

Just curious why you’re leaving so early in the morning (or I suppose night)? For 24 hour rides I’ve felt like since I’ll be up for so long anyways I might as well wake up at my normal time (~7 am) and start riding after a full nights sleep.
