I really need to get around to washing my bikes. The Super Tenere is covered in bugs and road grime from the Iron Butts last month and the KTM’s tail light is completely covered in mud.

Got the fairing on. Need to relocate turn signals down on the forks. Just wanted it for longer rides, not planning on keeping it on around town.

Well Fuck I was out on my ride and tried to do a Uturn on a fucking hill. Big mistake. Had to set the bike down on the left side. Just little scratches on the rear spool, passenger peg, rider peg, shifter and frame slider. Sounds worse but really not a huge deal at all. The worst part is I pulled or tore my right quad muscle on the outside trying to catch it. Fuck. I have ice on it right now. Bruising has not started. I could feel it as soon as it happened. Felt like a zipper being undone. Oh well shit happens.

shit. Hope it's just a pull/strain/hyperflexion and not a tear.

If it makes you feel better, I dropped my first bike turning right from an inclined stop sign on the test drive. Have dropped the BMW in my driveway backing it out. Almost dropped it on a hill when i tried to turn it around via tiptoe and got stuck...needed friends to help me push it around or it would have fallen or rolled into a car.

fingers crossed for a quick recovery

    I am hoping it’s just a strain.

Ouch. Hoping it’s not some big injury and just a strain.

Hey, it happens! I was so tired after my Ironbutt ride that while I was trying to put the S10 on the center stand I slipped on some ice (it was 30F out) and dropped it on its side. Thankfully the pannier and the already scuffed by previous owner engine cage took all the impact and nothing else touched the ground.

All of those scrapes can be replaced or painted over anyways, or just live with it and chalk it up to life.

Ya it doesn’t bother me at all really. I do have a powder coating machine and oven. The gray parts , foot peg and shifter were powder coated by me. Now my leg that’s another story. I don’t think it’s seriously damaged. I can still walk but it hurts. So far I think it’s just a bad pull/strain. Only time will tell. I was surprised I was able to pick up the bike. Adrenaline was pumping.

I've pretty much given up trying to catch a bike from falling. Once it gets past the point where the momentum and weight carry it over I just step off/over and let it happen.

Gonna check this out this weekend. Hoping to get a nice deal on a set of carbon frame/swingarm covers for my bike. I also plan on taking the Tuareg for a demo ride which may or may not end in a financial mistake. Hard pass on the group ride full of YouTubers and influencer try-hards.
