Got a plate for the KLX and did the old enduro plate trick. All of those zip ties will eventually fail... but they won't all fail at once...

If weed wasn't legal in CA I would be legitimately concerned for the sanity of half of these sellers lol

who am I kidding I still am concerned

Yeah...if he'd given me the opportunity to counter i definitely would have lol. That said, i'm not in a HUGE need, just seeing if i can find a deal at the moment and hoping to hop on a solid one. But if i miss out, it's no huge loss other than the 14yo me having to continue waiting for his dream R6

Mine's $6.25... motorcycles don't account for much damage in traffic accidents...

So here I was out enjoying my ride before I fly down to Texas and the gf reminds me oh hey did you get the new toilet seat for the bathroom? Uhhhh suuure I did yup I did! I then proced to go to home Depot thinking of it will fit in my bag no problem! Well it didn't so I had to improvise haha... I did get home no issues and it never moved once so yes babe I got the toilet seat like you asked.

I'm disappointed. I expected a picture of you wearing a toilet seat around your neck on the ride home.

Hell yeah. Fuel injection ftw. I will say even on the fuel injected stuff if it's going to sit for more than a week or two I make sure to throw some fuel stabilizer in it (startron enzyme fuel treatment is my choice) and make sure the tank is fullish (at least above the pump assembly etc and run it enough that the treated fuel has been thoroughly mixed and has been fully dispersed in the FI system.

Just had a buddy who's fuel injected dirtbike that needed the in take fuel pressure regulator replaced cus he never used stabilizer, let it sit for 4 months or more at a time, and while sat it never had fuel in it above the pump assembly exposing rubber parts to air and a few rubber seals dried out n cracked.

I was just talking to a coworker about this as his GF was potentially interested in buying my Grom before I sold it.

What's the purpose of the "Grom" (I'll explain quotes in a bit) for your GF, is it a stepping stone? Is it going to be the bike that she keeps so she can simply ride with you around town?

Regardless, buy used and buy a "Grom" sized bike.... Either an actual Grom that's stock with no mods from an older individual (as it won't be stunted - was likely a "run to the corner store bike") or buy a clean kawi z125 at a lesser price than a Grom from a similar individual.

IMO the only time to buy a bike new and pay all the extra fees, taxes and depreciation is if you want to buy a forever bike, or can't afford the cash up front for a lightly used clean bike (which realistically you shouldnt be buying a bike to begin with in that case)

Don't be ashamed. I'm 34, so younger, relatively in shape and have some muscle, in the 1.5 yrs of ownership I have dropped my super tenere 3x doing slow speed stuff like that, it's at a weight were once it goes theres no stopping it so just let it go. I did exactly what you did once with my Honda 919 and caught it, ended up smashing my pinky between the clutch and handle bars as my other fingers on the downhill side were pulling in the clutch at the time and it stalled and started falling. That low side hand gripped the bars so hard I couldn't pull my pinky out.... Barely saved the bike shoulda just let it drop.

    Speedy recovery man!

Idk if it would be a forever bike but she just likes them idk why truly haha. But she does want to learn to ride on it and will most likely be her toy in a sense like my supermoto is to me.

Used is fine as long as it isn't destroyed. Which sometimes here they just are sadly... But since no dealer has one for 200+ miles around here used will be the only option it seems.

Also for me personally I have no issues with loans since I don't always have the money or want to front the cash for a big purchase... The bolt was an exception since I had just sold the trailer and had extra cash from taxes. Normally I'd get a loan and hold my cash and just pay it heavily until it's gone. But that's me haha

Trust me I am not ashamed at all. Shit happens and I like to show that I am just human. I don’t get embarrassed about shit like this. I am just mad because I hurt my leg.

So dental update. I got the total amount to fix the upper teeth. $10,096 out of pocket for two bridges made out of porcelain, and all the prep work root canals exc. This is all for a temporary fix that may last 5 years or 10 but who knows. So half the price of the All on 4 which would be a more permanent fix with zirconia which is much stronger. I have been talking with the all on 4 doc and he said he could do the bridges also at his practice but he says its only good for 5 years because teeth get weak after root canal’s and since I will be chewing on them in the back that they will fail.
Anyway my grandpa died a few weeks ago and my mom is getting $200,000 inheritance so I asked her if she would pay for half of the All on 4. She said yes so I am going to go that route and just get it taken care of now. So either way it’s 10k out of my pocket. I am scared but at least I won’t have any more upper teeth pain except for the surgery and healing. Not looking forward to that. Wish me luck

I think my comments above on purchasing new bike / any moto on a loan should be summed up to, "the math has to math" and this goes for anything on a loan but especially a moto. If the math makes sense to take a higher interest rate loan but pay down the principal extra each month to negate those higher interest rates at the benefit of being able to have liquid cash AND build credit. Makes 1000% Sense! If its a bike you REALLY want, technically can afford and its affordable on "extra leftovers on the month", you have factored in the depreciation, the taxes etc and are OK with those losses. Absolutely, you cant take the cash with you when the reaper comes so may as well enjoy it. Needless to say, the math has to make sense for such an "unneeded" purchase that is a motorcycle living here in the USA. We arent a moto/scooter centric country like some of the asian/south pacific countries where the majority is 2 wheeled vehicles.

My sentiment comes from quite a few people who have come to me and asked "I have never moto'd, I want a moto, what do I do". I tell them, well, especially if you START on the street expect to lay down the bike just as you would if it were a dirtbike... unfortunately the street is WAAAY less forgiving as are most bikes that are for the street (dirtbikes are a burly durable beast and dirt is quite a lot softer on the average). With that in mind best to start your journey on something smaller than you want to end up on that is used and has a few dings n dents so WHEN you do fall over even if its making a U turn like @oldtoyman ( :p had to ) its not nearly as big of a deal as if it was a brand new bike that you were making payments on.

THEN once you get comfortable with handling that small moto you can take all of those skills and move to a bigger one much easier and safer. Best of all your losses on buying a true beginner bike dollar wise are going to be minimal as they are sought after bikes for that very reason. A couple hundred bucks over a year AT MOST.... well worth the comfortable in person knowledge gained by riding the small bike, that rider will be better off every time vs the guy that goes full send on the first bike purchase.

I have NEVER had someone that has heeded my "get a small underpowered bike as your first bike" recommendation come to me and go... dude that was a mistake.... I have ABSOLUTELY had damn near every individual who didnt heed that recommendation and bought a GSXR750 or the like come and tell me "I should of listened to you" after they tell me an "Im not ever riding again cus I crashed" story.

Haha figured that was the case.... BAH DAMNIT I hope your leg heals quick, that FZ1 NEEDS.... and i mean NEEDS to be ridden..... I volunteer as tribute if needed :D

@gixxerphil got the Bering gloves in today, holy crap they are warm!

I went with their size guide and got a 10/L and it feels comfortable but it's pretty tight to get on and take off. I'm hoping they loosen up/break in over time and get a bit more comfortable. Also they have a huge inner cuff that goes under the sleeve of my jacket/suit so it takes a little bit longer to put on but I'm excited to try them out.

I ordered a pair of Klim 1.0 inner gloves that supposedly don't take up any extra room really so I'm going to give those a try.

I'm usually a large/size 9 in Held. These 10s feel absolutely perfect length wise but i wish the velcro strap arounf the base of the palm expanded out a bit more to make putting on and taking off easier.

Fuck ya!! I will be out riding tomorrow. Need to get back on the horse when you fall off. So far the leg is sore but I can walk and bend my leg. I just can’t squat and get back up.
Thanks for the mention. Made me laugh out loud.
