that bike is absolutely beautiful! So excited to share that you couldn’t move it away from the trash cans?!?!? lol

As for bronze. I was Chicagos very first Moto gadget bar end blinker adopter. The BMW shop that wired them to my bike lost their minds over them. Original when they came out.
They were brown in like 18 months. I was beyond pissed given the cost. Point is it’s not only the eBay knockoffs that do that.

cheers on a nice bike. I LOVE the red rim tape on my GRiSO. The increased visibility in city driving is significant , but on that bike it picks up the reds. I can see the contrast on this bike is very different.

If I can avoid it I always ride moto's on the weekend even if its just for errands! Got out yesterday on a ride for fun in the canyons then down to the beach as it was a sunny warm day and the views at the beach are CHOICE on days like that, good lord hard to stay focused.

Got out Saturday for a bit over 200 miles. Picked up 2 more racetracks for the Team Strange GT event I'm in. Stopped by the HD dealership I used to work at for their open house. Decent Aerosmith tribute band playing, bikini bike wash, lots of sales going on. Was good to see my old coworkers and bosses. Left out earlier this morning and got almost 250 miles in. 2 more racetracks and 10 more locations for the GLMC GT that I'm in. Pretty productive weekend, just got home and threw some flesh on the grill.

I love roads like that, great pic.

This is one section of my daily commute to work. This section has just under 100 changes of direction thru the redwoods, nut'n but tight twisties. I rode either my motorcycle or one of my road bicycles. My commute is the only part of working I miss.....I'm retired.

I did that commute for 30+ years. Retired also, not missing what's on the other end.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Nice Chuck, that sounds like one hell of a weekend! Looking forward to seeing how your GT event goes.

Made it through my first day without any pain meds. Iam just getting used to being uncomfortable. Gums still super sore and upper mouth is tight. Hopefully I am in the down hill pain slide and it just slowly gets easier every day. Still along way to being healed up. I sure hope this is all worth it in the end.

Got out for a smidge over 100 miles today, doing one of my favorite routes. Lots of photos so putting it in a spoiler in case someone doesn't want to read a ride report..

Wife told me I could do whatever I wanted today, so when her and the baby started going down for a nap I went and got in the first long ride I've done in a long time, since last Fall, probably. It was about 60 degrees up on the plateau and around 70 down by the river.

Here is the Rever tracking of it, note the altitude, I got two descents and two ascents on phenomenal roads in, about 1900 feet in altitude difference between the top and bottom of each over a few miles of twisties.
    https://go.rever.co/h5mIdNMguKb

    upload_2024-6-16_19-35-16.png

Starts through some fields, then drops down into the canyon on a pretty fast long flowy portion. From where it curves back NW down to the river, then along the river for 20 or so miles to Lewiston/Clarkston. That real squiggly bit at the end (middle, since i turned around, really) is called the Old Spiral Highway and was the original grade before HWY95 was built.

Note the road spiraling through the background of the picture.. all the same road.

Really fun as a hill climb, lots of 10-30mph turns, most of them are pretty banked, and it's steep so you can rocket out of turns.

    upload_2024-6-16_19-39-45.png

We had a fire this last week that burned for three days. I think today was the first day it was out. About 1100 acres of the rocks and canyon along the river burned. A few years ago a tooooon of area along the river burned, in comparison this one was pretty mild. Still weird to see green hills and then come around a corner and it's black.

Overall, good day, glad to be back doing a long ride and not just commuting.

Happy Father's day to everyone, too. And if your situation with your father isn't great, or it's a painful day for any other reason, I'm thinking about you today, too. It was my first fathers day and gave me a lot to think about. Glad I got lots of time and cuddles in with my kid this morning, and she's currently upstairs with her mother not wanting to go to bed

just a couple of things tbh
Didn't ride to much this weekend (way to hot and had a family event two hours away and the gf said no to the bike haha) but we did end up going to blip like we normally do. Then decided since it was 90 something degrees with 70 something humidity we went to oceans of fun to cool off so the bike was dropped off at the house haha

Friend recently acquired an R1200GS so we went riding on Saturday for the first time with our bikes together:

    upload_2024-6-17_9-18-22.png

    upload_2024-6-17_9-18-41.png

We did swap bikes and while the R1200's engine is very smooth, I still prefer the overall feel of the S10. Maybe I'm just more used to the S10 but we both came away preferring our own bikes, which is the important thing! IMO the S10 looks way better than the R1200 (especially with the beak), but again, I'm biased lol.

He usually rides an S1000RR, and while we've always had fun, I always felt like I was holding him back on my bikes, mainly because my RC390 is way slower than his S1000RR, and he's also much more comfortable on sport bikes. I was actually faster on the adventure bikes just because he's not used to the weight/riding position but I think he's a better rider than me so it's just a matter of time before he's leaving me behind on the R1200 as well. Either way, Saturday was one of the best days I've had riding because we were more evenly matched. I'm hoping to go on some longer road trips with him now that we have almost equivalent bikes capable of eating miles.

Got out for a bit yesterday. Met a few dad/Moto Bro’s for a mini bike meet, before we were all off to other family sorta things.

Some cool bikes, and one completely new to me. a 1950'S Benly, uses a Honda single, designed as a short distance runabout and marketed to Japanese women. Was ridden in.

thank you! They're actually made by a fellow TW member, MattGecko haha figured I'd support a fellow taco friend, there's a few different versions of them. The acid green is an awesome color, always loved those ones.

thanks, and honestly yeah couldn't wait to snag pics and when I realized I couldn't get the left side I didn't feel like moving it before parking lol.

Yeah I may look into black or bronze reflective tape to replace, already pulled the red which was a nightmare for one side of one wheel, and a breeze for the rest lol.

i think you did pretty well haha. new bike is looking amazing in that pic!

Glad to see all this riding done over the weekend. Had a pretty solid riding weekend myself. First led that ride on Saturday for about 12 riders, went great! Was a good tame ride to refamiliarize myself with the BMW after the 2 month hiatus. Then Sunday, did a more spirited run through the canyons with a much smaller group which also went great. Weird hopping back on the heavy and powerful BMW after the last couple months riding the R3. Definitely requires an adjustment in cornering technique haha. Overall, about 500 very fun miles this weekend.

I was talking about ibuprofen. I have three hydrocodone left and have been taking them at night just before bed to dull the pain so I can get to sleep. After that I am just going to take a couple ibuprofen before bed. Never had a craving for pills. They don’t make me feel good like weed and alcohol do. So I really don’t understand why people are drawn to them. Maybe taking one pill every 6-8 hrs like prescribed is the reason. Never wanted to take more than that.
Anyway woke up this morning in less pain so things are getting better. Can’t wait until I feel no pain.

I took an oxycodone once. It made me feel so bad that I decided to just live with the pain after my surgery vs taking any more of them. The doctor gave me a huge prescription and I just didn't touch the rest.

I had a scrip for hydrocodone (sp?) When I had kidney stones and I only took one. Gave me a migraine and cotton mouth, so I threw the others away.
