There's a reason certain helmets are more expensive...

:jellydance: I about have my mind set to pick up an Enduro next spring or maybe the sm and buy dirt wheels
X2. I won't go back to having a cheap helmet after having a shoei street and my bell moto9 for offroad

I agree 100% with buying a good helmet. I had 3 cheapos before buying a Shoei and I couldn't imagine going back. Wish I had just spent the money right the first time.

I've just always been too hard on shit. I'd hate to ruin a $500 helmet in two years. I was annoyed enough with almost wearing out a $140 helmet in two years

Well the cheek pads and shit break in. But the foam itself should still be good unless you're all out wrecking them

    Do you buy them snug?

This AFX was the first helmet i've ever bought online. It was snug for a while...but i probably could've gone LG instead of XL. That being said, on a stupidly hot day, its snug. In the colder weather its getting a little loose. Also, i hate the ratchet buckle thing. It took forever to get totally tight/right

If it's the same shell you might be able to swap out and make it a "large." Or change to thicker cheek pads to snug it up a bit. I don't know if afx offers that but might be worth a shot

I definitely plan on keeping this helmet to wear in the woods to tear up. But believe you folks are finally steering me toward a good street helmet.

But i don't like wearing sunglasses in my helmet anymore since I switched to goggles...so a helmet with a flip down tinted visor inside might be worth trying since i wouldn't want a tinted wind screen all the time...they absolutely suck at night

I carry a spare shield with me if I know I'm going to be going from day to night. I hate sunglasses in the helmet too

Yeah, I have always been able to rely on my older Honda's. Hate to get rid of it but my current employment situation has me in a bind.
I would have picked a manual shift but it wasn't for me :notsure:
