You may very well have saved your house from burning to the ground.
    Glad you're ok.

I remember telling my wife... "We don't need a second car... drive the Tacoma! She was happy with it! But I started feeling the need for a beer-store vehicle, pick-up-at-the-post-office vehicle... go-visit-friends vehicle... thus the Kawasabi KLX450R.

Seems to have worked out in my favor and the savings account is ^$^$^ so we'll be able to get her a new vehicle soon (she gave up her shitbox when daughter wrecked the 4-Runner).

    OUCH! That sucks.

Mansplain: It's a good idea to pull the tank and plugs on a used bike, which automatically "inspects" the fuel lines and cylinders. I did that recently after buying a KLX450R and... cracked fuel lines! So happy I checked it out.

Damn that's nuts! Glad you made it away from the bike without getting hurt.

Good luck with insurance. Mine took their sweet time completing it all. At least more time than I think it should take.

Ya not looking forward to the insurance process. They seem to be on your side but really they are not.

Get book values and when you call be very clear, but polite, that you know what the bike is worth and if they try to low ball you'll push for litigation. Paying you properly is less expensive than engaging their legal team.

Wow, so happy you weren't injured and it wasn't inside your garage. At least it was insured. But a total bummer for sure.

That really sucks. Grateful it happened where it did and not inside your garage. Good luck with the insurance

Done hanging my 1up and moto rack now. Easy access and gave me a few spots to store hitch pins.

@cynicalrider I'm still not sure how comfortable I'd feel putting a tire changer on the curt one. But I don't want to risk falling into the car to really test it either.

Yeah I get that. I def think only two lags into one stud that close together would not be able to handle the dynamic load well. Now 4 lags spanned between 2 studs I think should hold up. Might give it a go when my project list dwindles down (so like 2027)

I took a mid day ride on the VFR/
I need to spray insecticide on the shop floor beams to inhibit powder post beetles.
Tim-Bor was what I was looking for.

I went to several places that "advertise" the product on the net, but got the empty eyes "never seen it here" response.

Until I mentioned "Oh well, It is a great excuse for a ride on the motorcycle". Then things got helpful and friendly. All the store clerks were happy that I was out riding.

    A nice feeling!

Now I don’t know if I am going to replace it or what I will replace it with? I think the best thing is to just wait now until next year. Enjoy the FZ1 for now and think
oh the tires did burn. The rear one exploded and took out part of the swing arm. This was after the fire department put it out.
