I am not understanding why you say it’s a heavy pig? Even if it weighs 20lbs more than the Klx the drz has more power. 24hp vs 44hp
I would say that weight would make a difference on the dual sport version when off road but on the street not much IMO.

The drz400 really doesn't make 44hp to the wheel... It makes roughly 31-32hp. What I'm trying to say is it's a heavy big bike and for other bikes on the super moto world get something else. All the people in here have agreed they wouldn't get another one even thou we enjoyed ours so that should give you an idea

That sucks. Can’t blame the guy except he did contact you about the bike. I am guilty of contacting sellers but never get to the point of making plans to come look. I do get their hopes up sometimes which I feel bad because I change my mind every other second.
Right now I am back in the zx4rr camp. I think it will be a fun little bike with enough power, comfort , handling and just different to keep me interested in it for a while. Won’t be doing triple digits in second gear. I want to keep the Klx300 and having that and a supermoto doesn’t make sense. Having a gsxr750 with its aggressive riding position,,, it’s just a race bike for the street and nothing real special about it.
So that’s where I am today. lol wait until tomorrow as I might change my mind again.

    I don’t know..

This talk of the DRZ being heavy is true, but the same could be said Honda XR. Both have been grandfathered in for emissions . So that said, nothing can change but colors and decals. I would have bought another DRZ 400 when I was looking, but wanted to try a lighter bike and with EFI. Am I happy, yes. But it doesn’t deter me from maybe getting another one, one day.

My opinion and mine only.. I can tune a carb’d bike cheaper than an EFI bike.

I like the old dinosaur. But new is where it’s at and can matter at times.

thats my morning hair brained speel.

    Be easy.

I honestly wish the color of the wheels and forks were a match rather than the different colors Honda went with.

Has anyone bought a motorcycle based on the sound it makes?
I do like the inline 4’s but that high pitch scream gets to me sometimes. For me personally I like the v-twin, 270 parallel twin and the single thumper low deep sound much better. I even liked the R3 with its 180 parallel twin sound with the full graves system. I think that’s why I like the Klx so much with the full barkers exhaust.

It's not even up for debate imo, the V4 sound trumps all. I've had plenty of I4, only a crossplane can sound good to me. Twins, singles, all sound slow and lazy
