I only rode the Super Tenere about 10 miles yesterday but man the bike feels so much smoother! It doesn't feel snatchy or jerky at all at low speeds, other than cracking open the throttle in 1st while rolling at an idle (no clutch). Still, super easy to manage now and it feels like it pulls even harder now. So far it feels so worth it. Can't wait to take it out on some longer rides.

hope you all had a solid riding weekend. Did about 200 miles this weekend in the canyons, and finished it off with a deep cleaning of my chain and sprockets as well as the engine case.

Since I recently got my chain and sprockets replaced, it had the factory grease on it. Forgot just how much that stuff flies everywhere...not to mention all the built up chain goop behind my front sprocket cover which I've now removed for easier cleaning. Used the Muc-Off high pressure chain degreaser which works quite well combined with a little elbow grease and some brushing.

As usual, not a single picture taken

Did some frame/swingarm prep today. Separated them to start with greasing the swingarm bolt/head bearings but decided I should paint them also to get rid of the rust.

Ended up using a rust converter and a black hammer paint.20241216_152013.jpg

Rustoleum hammered black is my TOP goto for paint on parts like that. It just looks so good and covers imperfections.

Yeah it turned out well. Especially since some of the rusty area was kinda pitted/had a hard edge from the factory paint.

I'm hoping it holds up. I just did a dawn soap/scour pad for cleaning. Lazy.

Got my new riding gear delivered just in time for my Christmas break at work! Went with the Rev’It Sand 4 H2O. Been riding around getting familiar with it this morning and I’m a pretty huge fan so far! I’ve tried several different jacket and pants varieties and this is the first that I feel like actually fits me right.

I was actually gonna ride to work last shift when it was cold. Couldn't find my pants......apparently they cut them off while in the ER  So I'll need to get something before next cold season.

Had I left it up to the EMS, they would have cut my boots  I was so doped up with 300 mcg of Fentanyl or I would have probably tried to take the pants

Only ridden around the neighborhood. Doc cleared me completely Tuesday. I haven't slept in the lace up brace for 3 or 4 nights....still wearing it at work, but haven't had to use the boot this go round.

How do you feel about them discontinuing the bike for 2025? Seems like a bummer. I'm curious what they'll release to try and replace it and the super tenere. Curious if they'll try like a tracer 1200 and mix the two into one.

It seems the FJR goes one of two ways. People ask too high of a price and scare people off or a low price and scare people thinking there's going to be something wrong with the bike. It's also a bike on which higher miles mean little to nothing. The 2013 I bought last year was just under 60k miles and I know that made some people shy away. I'd already turned one over 100k so I wasn't even concerned at all. 30k on this bike is just past the first valve check. I've put over 7k miles on the 2013 in just over one year and beyond oil, filter, final drive oil, and a rear suspension lube with brake fluid flush have done no actual repairs to anything beyond installing accessories.

i have noticed that as well. when im bored i look around to help my buddy out and find one and they either are a crazy high price and nobody buys it or its super cheap and again nobody buys it lol. he just sold his bike so if a cheap one shows up he will most likely buy one when he finds a good deal.

jokes with me to get one but tbh idk what i want for another bike haha
