Finally back on a bike. Made a deal on a 2023 FTR Carbon yesterday. Very stoked about it. Won’t pick it up til Saturday but already watching way too many Toce exhaust videos for my own good.

Weather forecast yesterday was better than reality, but it didn't stop me from continuing my GLMC grand tour ride. I planned a nice route that would scoop up a bunch of points but Saturday morning decided the best move might be to run my route backwards from my original plan. This meant instead of the longest actual continuous ride being the leg home I would start off that direction and get it over with then scoop up points working my way home. I started off with a roughly 40 mile stretch which led to my low fuel light coming on and a fuel stop before starting to gather bonus points. First actual stop that mattered was Battlefield Harley Davidson in Gettysburg, PA for my "order of chips", a poker chip worth 2 points.

They're also the nearest Royal Enfield dealer and I spent more time looking at the new Himalaya than any of the HD products. Next stop was the Lincoln Diner, a place I've met friends for breakfast many times. Good food if you're in the area.

Next a ride through history passing through sections of Gettysburg where a lot of men died during those 3 days during the Civil War. All this to get to Littlestown, PA and this little hole in the wall.

Followed by a few miles to McSherrystown, PA.

And my first foray out of state venturing into Maryland and the small town of Manchester.

This next stop wasn't in my planned route, but I was going to be passing through the area. I knew at one point, many years ago, there was a bar in town. I knew this because way back when I was a younger man, the US government pushed to standardize the drinking age among all of the states, and I was coming up on 18 years old while my home state of PA had a drinking age of 21. The neighboring state of Maryland had a drinking age of 18 and had opted that when they changed their law to make it 21, they would grandfather in anyone who had been 18 prior to a certain date when the law would change. This particular establishment was exactly 1/4 mile across the state line and let's just say I enjoyed visits here more than perhaps I should have.

It's just been a private residence or possibly a few apartment units for years, but part of the sign is still hanging and that's enough for a point. It's actually kind of funny they've never bothered taking down the remaining part of the sign. I reenter my home state and continue.

Glenville, PA and I've visited this place in the past with a group of friends all on vintage bikes as part of a vintage bike run. Roughly 10 miles later and I'm in Glen Rock, PA.

The Rail Trail Tavern sits right on a bike trail so they get business from bicycle and motorcycle riders. Wish I'd known about the mural 2 years ago when I was looking for those. On to Loganville, PA after which there will be a short highway segment.

Then off to a place I used to order from back in the early 1990's when I lived near by.

I'm almost home now so these last few I've spent time in as well. First up in Manchester, PA. My second Manchester of the day.

The Conewago Inn is old, I mean seriously old. There are rumors that it's haunted and it's one of those places where once inside you will have zero cell service which I can personally attest to. Finally, my last stop for the day in Goldsboro, PA

Goldsboro sits right on the Susquehanna River and sits directly across the water from Three Mile Island the nuclear powerplant that suffered the worst near disaster in US history. Antonio's does a lot of business with boaters in the area as there is a marina and public boat launches nearby. By my count I'm now sitting at 36 points and we're not even a full month into the tour. I've got a lot more stops plotted and once the weather gets better further rides to get to them.

Welcome to the tribe. I've test tode 1 last year or the year before. Was a fun test ride but not the bike for me. I have a 2018 Chieftain darkhorse converted to a Roadmaster.

Anyone have experience with rocker rust? I dont like venturing out in the rest of the forum, lol.

On a separate note i think im going to take my spare rack-n-ride hitch carrier and dedicate it to the razors. I bought that 8 inch rise one but the dirtbike was heavier than i wanted. So ill use that and maybe one of the ramps to salvage it some use.

Just looks like you need to do something about it before it gets worse. What to do about it? IDK it depends on how well you want to treat it and if you want it to look like it never happened.

I'm a big fan. 100% for the visibility, although I think it adds to this bike in daylight too. That is likely not the case on every bike. Pre-tour photo, with the flash highlighting the reflective bits.

I've used RydeSafe retro-reflective decals on a lot of my things.. bags, bikes, helmets. I've even cut custom stuff out on my cricut with it. I bought a 12/lb bag of off-cuts from them years ago and am still working my way through it. The F800 has pinstripes of it that are shockingly visible at night. My current helmet has about half a sheet of the hexagon reflectors on the back and sides, too.

I've got Rydesafe on two other bikes as well. Agreed it's amazingly reflective.

The skulls are rydesafe. Keeps it visible in parking lots and campgrounds.
