Be awesome to show up at a Harley event and tell all the pirates you left your ElectraGlide out in the rain and it shrank......

Sadly, when my ex g/f and I split up I had to buy her out as we had built this house together and give her her portion of the equity. I'm not angry or bitter as it was only fair but it meant me starting over with a fresh 30 year mortgage only a few years ago.

you know, what was I thinking being 12 and in school. I should've been buying up real estate at that time. Talk about a missed opportunity

Same here, it's cheaper for me to rent than even consider buying a house. I'm on a million $ property, but it's not what you think when you think a million bucks

    What game is that?

Gotta love socal.... If i were to buy the place im currently renting at market value id be paying more in INTEREST every month for the next 10-15yrs, let alone taxes, insurance etc. And im paying 2650/mo for a 3bed 2 bath place.

Crazy part is a single bedroom apartment up the street is the same or more per month. Prices are crazy.

There are people across the street that are renting. We know the people who own the house. Rent is $3000 per month. I thought that was crazy.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Saw this beaut at the track today:
    20250530_162544.jpg

Older (than me) gentleman, don't know how long he's owned it, rode it to the track. It's a 1920. Almost all stock, the throttle grip has been rebuilt and the bags were added about 70 years ago. Fires right up and runs like a champ! You can kinda see the effects of the total loss oiling system.

On another note: Got to talk to Wayne Rainey for a couple of minutes this afternoon...great guy. No wonder the series has turned around since KRAVE took over.

There's no such thing as "extra garage space". I believe that's known to most of us as "not enough motorcycles"[/QUOTE]

I got the 701SM out for an hour and a half ish today, first time taking it for more than a few minutes at highway speeds. 81 degrees and loooovely. That thing wants to go go go, but man is it uncomfortable at 60+mph haha It doesn't even like 6th gear until 75+. 60 and below its a hoot, still, though. I tried to take it on some *very* pillow-y gravel farm roads to cut across to another highway for a loop back and it was squirrely as hell. I forget how big of a different the skinny 21" wheel on the F800GS makes in the gravel compared to the wide AF 17" on the SM. Not to mention tread differences.. anyways, did maybe half a mile out of a four ish mile stint before turning around and just going back the way I came. Tried to stand on it for a bit, definitely need some bar risers soon to do that.

But, got a few pics at least. It's green season on the palouse and lovely as hell out, even if my allergies are going crazy right now.

    None... yet.
Nice! If you aren't tracking the bike or hitting corners at insane speeds, you might try out a 80/20 or 70/30 tire when it's time for new ones. I really like the Shinko's I have on right now although they do still get a bit squirrely in thick gravel...

Another thing to consider is just more time in gravel on a street tire. You get used to it. We took our supermotos offroad all the time.

Gravel and SM is fun! Though my baby bike likely feels alot more comfortable being squirrelly.

That said, anything I should be looking for for my rear axle shifting continuously? This will be my 3rd adjustment in 1500kms. RH side somehow slips forward a touch according to the match marks on slider.

Blocks are adjusted with vernier calipers to be even during setup. Bolts / nuts are cranked tight, both have anti seize as well. Axle nut tightened to spec with torque wrench. Chain is sealed EK type, factory chain, 5000kms on it. A couple minor kinks. Sprockets appear in good shape also.

I may look at upping the torque of the axle nut this time around to see if that helps, just another 5-10 ft lbs over whatever the manual calls for (can't recall off top of my head).

Also, maybe this is normal for dirt bike type of riding? Been hitting a lot more of the easy Enduro type trails around here. Lots of rock chutes and loose ground. Doesn't seem to be too rough of big hits to knock things loose but then again I don't have a reference.

20250526_122916.jpg latest rides. Got to drag this thing under some logs to make it up here. Image may be garbage and sizing off for mobile. Also did a poor object erase job in the middle.

Got the Honda varadero. (It’s a limited Canadian bike, kinda Vstrom)

1000cc vtwin is a big change from my 250 dual sport. Heavy but punchy.

more photos to come, headed straight to the mountains once I get my plate

Beautiful, why I want to get into a dual sport.

Biggest problem was just how fresh and deep the gravel is. You don’t feel the hard pack under it, at all, probably wouldn’t have had fun it on my f800gs, either. Roads are prepped for harvest traffic later this summer already.
