Had 2 buddies point out I had a loose clamp bolt on my bar, found out the threads were damaged.

It's amazing how something so small can cause your riding season to get disrupted.

Working on sourcing a new one, but for now I think I'm gonna fix the threads deeper in the bracket and use longer bolts.

It would touch the bar it’s too close, I’ll still consider it once I’m at work on Monday and see how it looks but it’s not ideal

You could always drill all the way through and put a nut on the back

I have the same thing but different going on.
BMW r65ls driveshaft filler bolt stripped the final drive aluminum so dealing with that. IMG_20250607_095651070.jpg bolt on the left.
Going from a M12 to an M14 drilling out and re-taping. Now that's because I need to remove to replace the gear oil so that's why no heli-coil. If I were to use anything it would be a Time Sert, they are ment to expand during insertion. New tap $12.00 drill bit $7.00 new bolt $ 12.00.
For what's it worth you might just need to re-tap/repair the threads.

Went for a short ride yesterday and it feels like the headset is loose. Only 3300 miles on it, is that typical for needing an adjustment when new? :notsure:
In the garage, I can hold the front brake and work the bike front and back and feel something that isn't quite smooth in the handle bars, but can't "feel" anything at the headset bolt itself. A third hand would be helpful here.
I'll check the front wheel here in a bit and make sure it's not about to leave the chat.

Edit, I've read about more than one Kawasaki needing a head bolt adjustment shortly out of the box, like the dealer is skimping on the grease?

    Looks real nice!

I found myself in a similar situation when I switched my wheels out. Weird thing is that the correct chain length, with the OEM sprockets, put me on the very outer edge of adjustment. Put a +2 rear sprocket on and it helped without dropping the top end too much. Also provided a little more "umph" from the get-go.

I wanna ride a SM. I tried to buy a set of wheels a while back for $500.....but the guy ghosted me. He was near my hometown, and I actually spoke to him on the phone.

Last year I took mine apart and cleaned all the factory great out of the head bearings, repacked them. Feels much better. When you are pulling the brake and rocking there is a lot going on in the front end. Mostly brake pads will move making it feel like something is loose.

Took the klx to blip since I'm still waiting on the tracer.... Last I heard the dealer is fighting the warranty company about the sprockets...

But gotta say this thing is fun but it's slow AF and God is the seat awful haha. The gf will be doing 50mph just kinda cruising meanwhile I'm in 6th screaming at 50mph haha. Still lots of fun thou.

What's the issue with the sprocket? I vaguely recall some chain issues you noticed after picking it up.

The chain was crazy loose and me and the shop wondered if the sprockets got damaged since the chain was so bad. According to the shop it needs the front changed at the minimum but if you are doing one you should do the other kinds thing. But warranty company says nah they are both fine.

Well Amazon has once again dropped the ball. Paid for overnight 7-11 am delivery but has been delayed. Did a chat and they are going to speed up the shipping and said it should arrive in the next few hours. Oh well hopefully it arrives and I can ride today. The anticipation is brutal. Lol
