Nah, just didn't think new tail lights were really "pic worthy", but I can certainly oblige!

If you haven't ridden Jordan Rd from Arlington to Granite lately, they just paved all the bumpy sections and it was fun to zip through all the twisties last night. They are closing it on Thursday though until October or later to replace the single lane wooden bridge.

Lol it was very tempting but i've got more coming up so I'm not too worried. though it'll be a 3 month hiatus...

laguna seca should be awesome. I want to make it up there one day. Been there once when my oldest brother had an M3 he liked to track, went out for a ride along. hell of a time.

Installed the 39t rear sprocket yesterday and now I am out on a ride. So I went 80miles of aggressive riding and the fuel light never came on. I am at the gas station in snohomish and just put in 1.27gal. So I got 62 mpg with another 1.5 gallons left until dry. So easy 160miles on a tank.

Got home and I just swapped the 37t rear back on for a back to back feel. Will update when I return.

That's great! I'm only getting about 50 mpg on the DRZ, 46 on the Street Triple. The mpg variance between different hp, cc, and cylinder motors is interesting and very confusing to me...

i can eek out 50ish on the super tenere 1200 if i do under 72. the rpms at 73 put me into open loop richer fueling and mpg drops to low 40's. Lifetime average has been mid to high 30's due to spirited canyon riding haha.

You need to tell us what kind of riding that is. Hyw or bouncing off the rev limiter back road twisties? Makes a huge difference when we are talking MPG.

I've still never done freeway on my bike. I've cruised at 60 for a good ways on back roads and it's definitely 5mpg lower than keeping it at <50mph. I'm betting it's going to drop quite a bit above 60. My little 500 is gonna have to really rev, lol.

Just got back and I like the stock gearing better. Only real difference is RPMs at any given speed. Not much difference in acceleration at the seat. I may try my 15t front with the 39 rear since I have the sprockets already just to see what it’s like.

Oh I weighed myself in full leather gear , boots, helmet , gloves and I freaking weigh 216lbs. Damn I need to see what it is with the textile pants, jacket ect. I bet it’s at least 10lbs lighter. That makes a big difference on a low HP bike like the KLX.

It’s 204lbs vs 216lbs leather vs textile. Damn

Guy at work machined the triples to accept a 15mm bolt instead of 10.

Hope to get time to weld the frame up this weekend at another coworkers.

Just cruising the surface streets and not much highway riding. Usually between 2 and 3000 rpm. The bonneville will cruise all day and yet will maintain 80mph on the highway if I want to. I just find the surface streets more enjoyable.

It's my Friday here at work, off the rest of the week. Heading north Thursday morning to Clifton Park, NY for a small FJR forum gathering in the Catskills and Adirondacks. Have a bunch of GLMC and Team Strange grand tour locations in the GPS to hit over the duration of the trip. That also helps Dianne out by breaking up the rides into more manageable segments for her.

Been following along on the Iron Butt Rally reading the daily reports and watching the Spotwalla page. Interesting that this year Wendy Crockett has forsaken her FJR and is riding a Zontes 703F. Curious if perhaps they might have given her the bike to ride? Had to look it up myself as I'd never heard of it.

No question in my mind, she was given, or paid, or both, to ride the Zontes. I can't imagine any serious Iron Butt rider selecting what looks to be a Chinese version of the long in the tooth Transalp. Nothing ground breaking in the basic design.
