Same! I bought these - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y1KVT87?th=1 - a few winters ago and find them VERY useful down into the 20's. They are a bit bulky but flexibility is good and I'm not worried about super fast shifting at those temps.

As for mesh jackets, I'm looking at this - https://tinyurl.com/3rabf9sr because my current jacket is getting beyond "well used". Big fan of their armored jeans!

I think the Yamaha FJR is one of the most reliable bikes ever made. There are many examples racking up 150,000-200,000 miles (and more) all without issue and only routine maintenance. @BkerChuck knows what I’m taking about! ;)

Yeah, I agree, the air hitting the back of my hands is worse than the palms. I went all in on hippo hands. Heated grips + hippo hands means I can wear thin 3 season gloves all year round.

Also, I swear to fucking whatever god y'all hold holy, we have this same conversation every six weeks

This is partly why I rarely used my heated grips. If I used them with winter gloves, the gloves were thick enough I would barely feel the heat rendering them pointless. If I used them with thinner gloves, the backs of my hands would still feel the cold and my hands wouldn't really warm up. The other part of it is that I don't ride in that cold of temperatures on a regular basis, so it wasn't a huge issue.

Lol not only did you mention how frequently we have this convo, but you also worked in the Hippo Hands recommendation I knew was coming lmao

You mean you don't wanna discuss what tires to use or how many miles we hit on average per year?

I like the heated grips (OEM) that were added by the previous owner on my bike. I do have the hand guards though, so most of the wind is kept off. I wanted to install the same grips on my wife's bike, but I hear it's a PITA to install on the Rebel 1100. I don't wanna pull the tank and such just to reach a connector to plug in a relay or whatever it is... poor design in my book.

Looks like it would be difficult to ride wearing these...

I like it quite a bit. Maybe more? Its quiet, smooth, clean looking, and playful. Its definitely more playful because of the shorter arm which i prefer. I havent spent much time on full power to compare but i dont think its as torque-y, but again the shorter arm makes up for that. Its a 5kw rated vs 10kw.

Need some more time on it but debating selling the other setup already :anonymous:
Ive done singles for a week. Not fun.

Coldest I have ridden was -50 air temp, I don't add in "wind chill", but it was on snowmobile

oof that doesn't sound fun at all. snow/ice too? or just cold?

I don't think it gets that cold anywhere here in SoCal lol

I've always wanted to snowmobile. but I can't imagine it'd be that fun at that temp

Was thinking of all the times I used to ride my quad in the snow and freezing temps. Fell off in a creek one time. Made it back to our friends garage and his propane heater as fast as I could. Jeans and cotton sweat shirt soak up water fast lol. No more of that for me!

No snow or ice. Just cold luckily. No heated gear.

I want to go snowbike eventually
