I never saw that color bodywork before but that model was offered in a translucent red and blue from the factory. Buell had some really cool offerings but Harley screwed them 6 ways from Sunday at every turn. Erik never even wanted to build the Blast but Harley corporate wanted an inexpensive entry level bike and if it failed a scapegoat to take the fall. Unfortunately Erik is a much better engineer than a businessman.

I've never heard of insurance for a trailer/RV unless it has it's own steering wheel. I had a tent trailer for a few years that didn't have separate ins.
Just call you ins. company and tell them you bought one and it's on the truck. Then they at least know you have it and it's not a surprise if you have to file a claim.

I think in TN or somewhere down here you have to register your truck camper. Take that with a grain of salt....cause it's something I remember from years ago.

    Google's AI answer....so

In some states, truck campers are required to be registered and titled separately from the truck they are mounted on. These states include Idaho, Indiana, Mississippi, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, and Washington. Ohio is also listed as requiring registration in some sources. Kentucky is another state where truck campers are titled and registered separately.

when we were looking into 16-20ft campers there is insurance on the trailers. now when its behind the truck its covered but if you leave it at a camp site then its not covered. some odd way around it but i was going to have to pay insurance on it basically.

4 years ago, I was rear ended by a van while the camper was on the truck.
    Van damage.

    Camper/truck damage. :D

No shit, door was wedged shut and had to wait until I got home to pry it open.
Otherwise no damage. The van drivers insurance took care of the repair, which I did myself.
Dude did me a favor as the door had some frame rot that needed addressed. Otherwise the camper/door and truck were undamaged. Receiver hitch took the brunt of the impact.

Different states are different. Here in WA, campers are titled and registered separately, requiring their own insurance policy. (it's pretty cheap, and we have full replacement value). A lot of states consider them cargo, and truck insurance covers it. But without upping your cargo coverage, most truck policies only cover 1000-3000 of cargo without paying INSANE premiums.

I got to ride with Erik in CO. He came out for a weekend long trip where we stayed up in Breckenridge and rode several hundred miles each day. Great guy. His design knack is out-fak'n-standing!

The Harley XL based engines in the XB's are super simple. Both bikes I had were rock solid & I rode 'em like I stole 'em. Sometimes I think tinkering with stuff can open a can of worms.

In my tacoma, I did a hood mounted solar panel from cascadia4x4 and a 27f agm main battery. It would run my fridge indefinitely.

If I do a camper again, I definitely want something quick and easy to remove. If there was a good way to remove the habitat, I might still have it.

they came out with some jackstand adapters but I wasn’t sold on the design only being in the corners vs the entire bedside edge.

How does yours strap down? I found one that is a good price and looks to be in good shape and I plan to look at it Saturday. But he has it hooked outside his bed??

His xb12 has been one of the most unreliable bikes he has owned lol. He likes it a lot but it pisses him off heavily.

The 1st gen Tundra still utilizes old school stake pockets. I think Ford might as well?
I used these, modified a bit to be stronger for off road use. I did not have to drill into the bed to use them. The Tundra had holes on the inside of the bed that I used to bolt them in.
