XR is legal! First time riding it to work was a success, can't wait to keep practicing on a manual bike. Only stalled twice

I say orange. a little color looks good on motos and that orange is nice. coming from a guy who usually doesn't like orange

looks amazing. love the whitewall tires

I'd be surprised if you couldn't adjust the headlights. Some are similar to car headlights with an adjusting screw

I remember my XSR was easy. just grab the headlight bucket and rotate it as desired lol

Yeah even running full synthetic on my super tenere I do a max of 3000mi on an oil change.

Adjusters are pretty easy to get to on the back of the headlight buckets.

That took awhile to catch up. Had like 8 pages to read and skim through, lol.

We took off Friday morning for Oregon and camped out til yesterday morning. The only two wheels for me over the weekend was starting my sister's KX100 for her. I guess I did ride it about 50 feet, but I was in slip on shoes and didn't want to snap my ankle crashing it in the sand. Any of you guys ride sand?

I actively avoid riding in sand.

It's a serious PITA if you aren't keeping up your momentum (i.e. hauling ass). I've often thought about picking up a 125 two stroke, but driving the SxS is a boatload of fun, and I'm far less likely to hurt myself.

    Hm...lets see.

    BMW every 5k
    R3 every 2k
    R6 every 3k
    Ducati every 7.5k

I would push out the R3 and R6 more if they weren't also track bikes that get run hard lol.

I used to have a dirt road that led to work and I could take my WR every day.

Now its disrupted and I need highway mode, dual sports just arent great at that.

You must live close or have decent side roads to get to work.

    Keep sharing, get it dirty!

    Once...was scary as hell.

Of course having 50 foot vis fog on a beach full of cars and beachgoers made it even sketchier.

Weight of that thing would be completely different, that's for sure. That and a paddle tire is damn near a must for a dirtbike in the sand. And if you thought the beach was a pain, that is nothing compared to the open sand, and throw a hill or a serious dune in the equation and yikes!! lol. The YFZ quad I used to have with paddles made everything pretty boring. The underpowered SxS is much more fun. Wondering if I can make it, or even failing, is way more fun than riding up everything with ease, shifting up as you go.

Was out at Moses Lake with my sister one Memorial Day weekend. They were doing monster trucks, sand drags, and who knows what else. Was a mess. We found this girl on a Honda 250ex waving us down. She was in a red bikini, an mx helmet, and riding boots. And I think she had one of those little drawstring backpacks. We ride up and she said she didn't know what was wrong, it just died. My sister asked if the fuel was on, the little dial on the side. She said she didn't know, and looked and said it's on "Off", and the asked if that was right... My sister said "No... turn it to 'ON'". She does, hits the starter, it starts, says thanks and rides off...

Moses is a a hillbilly shit show. I went for memorial day like 20 years ago and it was pure insanity, trucks and bikes and quads going full speed with no abandon 24hrs a day. Bikes ripping through the middle of the camp while you're trying to sleep. Had to help dig a dudes head out from under a truck after they went head-on at the top of a dune, I watched a Geo Metro go up in flames on the road along the dunes, never mind the trucks getting trashed in the mud pit.

There was definitely some fun had though, at night it was just a miles long party, walking from campsite to campsite and drinking whatever people offered. People had projectors watching movies on their RVs, at least one I remember was of the adult genre. At one point in the weekend I got to ride around in a brand new WRX STi with less than 1k miles on it. Apparently the guy that owned it got arrested on the trip there and his buddies had it after he told them to keep going. They were rallying it through the sand all weekend with the windows wide open and beating it to death. Interior was covered in sand and chips and who knows what, they ripped off part of front body kit and just said if the owner was there he would be doing the same thing.

Usually if you get off the powerlines a few hundred yards it'll get empty, even during high traffic weekends. Invited some friends to moses for their first time, not realizing it was same weekend as the mud fest. I got in Thursday night and it was EMPTY. Got a spot along the power lines. Around midnight a toy hauler pulled in 200 feet away and started BLASTING music for 2 hours. We drove further away the next morning. My friends show up, and after that another 200 rigs or so do as well, lol. Was like a parking lot. They had a newborn and a dog... and idiots were shooting mortars off 50 feet from us all night... Last time i camped along the road. And now I always search online to make sure there's no events.

This is an older Google Satellite image at Moses, of my Tacoma back when I had the Habitat.

Auxiliary lighting is money well spent. Makes tou more visible to othe traffic and aids in riding at night.

Been after the slip on V2's here in Canada for a while, no one stocks them. True 33mm OD, unlike the moto version ODI Rogues I bought thinking they'd match my MTB ones for OD.
