Mine are also yellow which I find makes me a lot more visible compared to all the white light on all other vehicles!

I ended up buying a T-Rex skid plate for the Super Tenere. It's built really nicely and feels very sturdy but with the Givi engine cage it was kind of a puzzle to get on. Definitely had to wrestle it on which wasn't very fun. As long as I don't have to remove it any time soon!

I also have some quick drain valves that stick out of the pan pretty far and the skid plate does a good job of protecting them:

I'm hoping to do the NorCal BDR next month with it so it needed some extra protection.

I also succumbed to the supermoto itch and bought another WR250R (I had a 2009 WR250X) with both dirt and supermoto wheels and tires.

    upload_2025-8-28_14-50-58.png

I've ridden it exactly once up one of the tight back roads we have and remembered exactly why I loved my old 250X so much.

    upload_2025-8-28_14-51-54.png

Then on the way home I noticed something dangling and found out my plate and turn signals and brake light fell off.

    upload_2025-8-28_14-52-49.png

The tabs for the plate and lights broke off the subframe. I'll have to take it to my friend's house and see if he can re-weld it with some reinforcements. I'll have to zip-tie everything back up for the time being.

What kind of tires do you have? I need to get some new dirt tires for the WR250 but don't want ones that will get completely burned up on asphalt.

How bad is the norcal BDR? Honestly have looked at it much, but I feel like I remember it being pretty sandy? That'll be a big bike for it but should be a blast.

I haven't done much research but all my friends are taking big bikes so I don't really want to ride the WR there by myself. From what I've heard the easy routes aren't too much harder than fire roads.

We’ll be camping! I’m going to Yosemite next weekend and camping as well so it’s a good opportunity to practice moto camping.

I also tried it out a few months ago:

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I put a new rear tire on the Vespa GTS250 today.
Michelin XZX in 145/70R12. I read they out wear "scooter tires" 10:1
It better! The Kenda I took off was a royal PIA! And mounting this new one took over 90 psi to seat the bead, even with a half dozen inflate/ deflate cycles.

    I sure wouldn't consider a roadside repair!

The world turns on RUBBER tires!

just a couple of things tbh
And here I am again looking at super teneres...

Found two locally ish for 4500 and one 5400 same miles at 20k both well taken care of but one is blue and one is white...

White one has been owned by one person and then given to his brother to ride. 4500 decently modded.

Then we got the blue that someone bought and just didn't like loads of luggage racks bolted on but no bags or cases for 5400 but In pretty blue...

I have a light rain jacket that I wear with my over pants. I cant imagine being in a humid hot rain. All canadian rain is typically cold so I have yet to experience that on a bike so far.

I hate being trapped in the heat. I'd rather be wet lol.

    keeping jersey dirty
Just rev the piss out of it and work the clutch till you get a better feel for it. Way easier that way rather than trying to start soft and get the right throttle every time + you learn to work the clutch
