Score wise, terrible. (second to last in my class lol) Fun wise I had a fucking blast. Probably one of the most fun I had riding in a very long time. The bike performed incredibly, the mousses and rear had just gobs of traction and the suspension felt super dialed. Was 100% the rider

But I still did better than my 2 club members in B class because one crashed hard in the first test on his ribs and the other's bike died after a crash.

    Disagree. I'm 2.5 miles.

A left, a right, a left, and a left. I'd *almost* always prefer to do it on my bike. I wear basically the same stuff, except the jacket is likely different. Takes me a minute to put my gloves and helmet on while the bike warms up a touch.

Shit if I'm going in my car in the winter half the time car doesn't even get warm by the time I'm there. Seat heater and grip warmers warm up much faster haha

    Sometimes.
i only have 3 miles also which is why its fun ln the razors but the garage has been such a mess and ive been so worn out that i havent started. On big bikes ie 690/600 its not very exciting. Right, left, right, left, right, left.
I also listen to music in the car, too lazy to bother on the bikes for such short commutes.
Theyll be better going forward now too. But you probably wont ever want to go back to tubes, lol

I'm in the same boat. Bike commute is a bit longer because I like to stay off the main roads. Car commute is about 5-10mins depending on traffic. It might be longer to put on my gear but I enjoy the trip way more than I would in my truck.

Luckily for me, that's as easy as turning on pandora before I put my phone on my quadlock, then turn my cardo on and say "Hey Cardo, music on". Really do love the Cardo!

Used it at the Dunes for the first time the other day. So much easier than the Rugged Radios setup I used to have in the SxS. No cables! Less range than the 5W HAM i was using with it, but the ease of use is awesome. Nicole was listening to an audio book as she rode around on her quad, lol.

I think if I do stop riding for a while it will be due to lack of sleep than anything else. I also feel like if I'm not riding 4-5x a week, I get a little rusty so I'd rather just pause riding vs riding once a week and not feeling comfortable on the bike.

I don't remember exactly when I stopped posting but I think it was last year because we were moving and had a ton of changes going on at work that I was trying to juggle all at once and my internet usage became less consistent.

My commute now is ~6 miles each way but it's mostly highway so at least I have an excuse to get the motorcycle out but not have to spend an hour + each way on it like I used to before we moved.

Glad to hear the 701 seems to not be eating coolant now. What are you going to replace it with?

Thanks! I wish that were a real thing, or at least getting an Aerostich styled onesie so the baby can match! I keep joking with my wife that I'm going to pick her and the baby up from the hospital on the Super Tenere. :D

I'm already glad we're having a girl, less chance of her wanting to get on a bike. :p

My mom is actually kind of jealous because 1. she always wanted a girl and 2. she also thinks if I were a girl I would have had less of an interest in motorcycles.

I feel like I'm right on the verge of commuting by bike vs car. With the bike, at least it's in the garage so it's faster to get on vs walking down the street to get in my car, but I do have to gear up. My commute is mostly highway and on bad days I can get in the express lane for free on the motorcycle, and there's one very crowded interchange where being on a bike is faster and easier to get through all the traffic.

Some days I ride because I go to a gym that's not super close by and splitting through traffic saves me ~15 min each way, and other days I ride with the plan of taking off to the hills after work for a fun after work ride.

Long term plan would be to hopefully sell the 701 and the F800GS and get a 1190/1290 super adventure R. I had a guy that was going to come look at the 701 "mid september after family and work slowed down" who I messaged yesterday to see if he was still interested and he did the whole "well finances, work, blah blah I can't sorry thank you for your time" I hate facebook.

As long as she isn't getting on the back of someone elses bike! I'd rather have my daughter riding her own than hopping on the back of some squids bike

But also, again, congrats. Girl dad life is awesome.

My commute is a touch under 10 miles. Leave the house, turn right and go about 2 miles. Left turn onto the interstate for 5 miles. Top of exit ramp has a light, turn left go about 100 yards then turn right onto a great 2.25 mile twisty road that I've been traveling for over 25 years and know like the back of my hand. I've ridden to work most days since back in 2008 when gas prices were really high and I had a 23 mile ride or drive my old F-150 getting 13mpg. Back then riding to work was almost like getting a dollar per hour raise with the price of gas at that time.

I've just gotten so used to riding and enjoy it so much that the little time lost gearing up for me is just part of my daily routine. I've also been fortunate enough to get sent out to pick up or drop off items for work meaning I can get paid to go riding.

To me an EV is preferable to an automatic ICE car. If I can't shift my own gears I'll take the simplicity of an EV.

I'm glad you like them! It's all matter of opinion.

I don't like regular torque converter automatics as they feel kind of disconnected to me, whereas an EV feels more direct like a manual transmission does.

My brother also had a 2019 Golf R DSG and I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have hoped. He ended up selling that car to get a manual Corolla.
