if you want something more compact, you've gotta goto down. the trade off is down is a lot more expensive than synthetic.

Can almost guarantee its not in a stuff sack, so you can probably get it to about half that size. Also, keep in mind most sleeping bag ratings are "you will not die down to this temp" not "you will be comfortable at this temp". Last thing I'll say on it is the difference with an insulated pad is amazing. The ground saps so much heat out of you without one. I have the non-insulated kylmit static v and theres a noticeable difference, I'm assuming the insulated is even more extreme difference. Plus I'm old and sleeping directly on the ground is overrated. https://klymit.com/products/static-v-camping-sleeping-pad?variant=31735711105114

Even a low r value makes a significant difference. Once you start to get towards freezing or below it becomes even more important.

My wife bought a 0 degree bag at a consignment store for like 50% off price of new, and it was immaculate. Went back a year or so later and she found a -15 degree bag similarly priced, and I inherited her 0 degree bag. I've also used the Sea to Summit Thermolite Reactor Fleece Liner that's supposed to add up to another 32 degrees of coverage inside the 0 degree bag. Comfortable, if not a little warm, in temps down to 15 or so.

Definitely check out any used sporting good stores if you have any in your area. We've bought other stuff there, too.

THIS, if you want something small, you're gonna pay a serious premium. My wife's -15 is more compact than my 0, and my 0 is about the same size as my old cheap-ass 35 degree Coleman.

AND an important EDIT: We hang our sleeping bags up in the garage when not in use. We DO NOT leave them compressed in their bags. We do the same with our sleeping pads, as they are the hybrid type that are self inflating.

I suppose I can take it out of the bag and see if it can be compressed further. A lot of reviews said that getting the sleeping bag back into the provided sack was almost impossible so I’m not sure how I’d get it into an even smaller sack lol.

My tent already came with a sleeping pad but not sure if it’s insulated or not.

I do want a 0 degree or less bag because I figure then I’ll be comfortable on 30-40 degree weather.

Our bags are like the below. And you can REALLY crank those straps down. Makes a big difference in size. They're pretty heavy duty so I put a lot of oomph into them and haven't broken them yet, lol.

Did my final break in ride today. Got home with 605 miles on the OD. Drained the oil and removed the filter. Oil looks good again and nothing strange. Then got out the slacker and set the front and rear preload. Then set rebound. Will play with compression after I ride a bit. The rear has both low and high speed compression. Checked off all the other things to inspect at the 600mile service. Bike is ready to rip.

You can get a custom one from enlightened for $400

Amazon is not a great place for stuff like this imo better off through REI, motocampnerd, scheels, etc

The two cheaper ones are synthetic and probably not much smaller than what I bought.

Well my day tomorrow has been planned out. Went to dinner with the wife and I heard a grinding noise coming from the rear of the car when she stopped. When we got to the restaurant I looked at the rear driver side rotor. There are two big groves in the middle of the rotor. Checked the rest and the pads look a little thin but really need to be changed. $489 and I got 4 new rotors and pads for her car. It’s a 2016 1/2 (yes it’s a half year) Mazda cx5. I will swap them out tomorrow. It’s a pretty easy job.
I haven’t ridden in her car for a few weeks and I asked her “how long has it been grinding”? Her, “ just over a week!! I said tell me if you ever hear grinding!!! lol squeak is not bad but grinding is. I had to laugh.

That was just an example. There's another 20+ in that price range. We can't do actual down, we have to use synthetic. Wife can't take the smell of actual down. She has a horrible sense of smell, but for whatever reason that makes her sick, lol.

Well got my jacket that I ordered today and just printed a return label for it. Whomp whomp.

Sizing for Rev'it is SO bizarre. Not just standard Euro fit bizarre, but just.. weird.. I'm normally a L or more likely an XL in more clothing brands, but sizing charts and reviews said order a size up, so I got a 2XL.
    - Arms were really long, super wide wrist opening and sleeves
    - chest was OK but overall pretty tight, wouldn't be wearing anything under it if I kept it
    - the weirdest part was how short it was overall. Like, it was above my belt. As a 2XL.

Sucks that Revzilla now charges $10 to ship something back, but whatever, I'd rather get $300 back instead of being stuck with a $310 jacket that doesn't fit right. They locked the free return shipping behind their RPM Membership whatever program.

I’m hoping to use it to get out riding more. I love my XSR, but I haven’t been riding much. I spend all my weekends up at our cabin in Conover WI. I found out that dual sports are allowed on most county ATV trails, and there’s an excellent off-road trail system just a few miles from our place. I have missed my DRZ400SM since I sold it. There’s a lot to be said for the pleasure of trying to ride a slow bike fast. You can rarely dip deep into the XSRs power without serious personal risk. Time to try something new in my 40th season of riding! lol
