Grip warmers showed up yesterday too. Before I install them I want to plug them in and make sure the bike recognizes them and they work. I will check that out later today. Then if everything is good I will install everything tomorrow.

I've always just poured some new brake fluid in the bottom of a dry water bottle and then use enough hose to keep the end in the fluid. That way if it sucks back up, it just sucks in brake fluid.

This prototype looks spicy. Interested in seeing more info about this.

I remember them debuting that prototype engine, pretty wild stuff. 3 cylinder V with a supercharger, two front cylinders, one center rear.

Honda used to run a V5 in the RC211V MotoGP bike. It was an absolute symphony when fired up. I wonder if any of that DNA made it's way into this package.

Overall, it looks like a pretty cool platform. A single sided swingarm and trellis frame combined with the compact engine package will probably make for a light and flickable bike.

Only thing I'm stuck on is the bodywork. My OCD just cant...

I think it's funny the new NX500 for 2026 is stealing colors from the CFmoto. Also, this new NX has the e-clutch. cool to see them putting that on more stuff.

Other EICMA things, the BMW 450 got unveiled a bit more. Under 400lbs, just under 50hp out of a 420cc twin, centrifugal clutch with up/down quickshift, 17/19 wheels, 7.1" travel front/back. MAYBE 2027 in the US, Europe gets it first. The inclusion of basically whats a rekluse clutch surprised me. Seems most other manufacturers are doubling down on e-clutchs and DCT and whatnot, not old school centrifugal stuff.

I haven't looked into it, how does the e clutch work? Is it a solenoid? If so. Wouldn't it be on or off without the ability to modulate or "feather"?

Plugged in the grip warmers. I read that the bike automatically detects the warmers and activates it in the menu. Well that didn’t work. Next I read if it doesn’t then the dealer will need to activate it through the diagnostic port. So I will get them installed and wait until I get a clear day to ride it down and see what they can do.

There's some electric motor/actuator that rotates the clutch at the same point as the clutch cable.

    upload_2025-11-4_13-25-23.png

I'm not sure how it works between gears, but I'm assuming takeoff is similar to my wife's DCT. It will slip the clutch until you get up to speed where it locks it up completely. between gears, you still need to shift with your foot, but that's all I know. Not sure if it's like a quick shifter or what.

EDIT: also, you can still use the clutch on the bars as usual, but I have read it can be a little odd when it switches back from your control to the bike's control.

Honda used a white/blue scheme on the 1990 NX250. I was there, 3,000 years ago…. I didn’t like that color scheme then either.

I've read that when you engage it yourself it deactivates the e-clutch. Where it sounds it might be weird is if you let out faster than it thinks you should when taking off, and it tries to take over. Again, haven't used it, just what I've read on Reddit.

Rear cowl is installed. After I put the decal on and installed it I didn’t like the decal. So it has been removed. Looks much cleaner this way. Might take off the front faring decal and just leave the Yamaha in gold like the rear. The decal is a smoke grey with the gold around the edge.

Looks great. I'm curious what the underside looks like. I agree with you on the decal removal.

The colors are kinda like the new 2026 CB1000F. Currently announced for the Euro market only at the moment.

I love the retro look of it. https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/news/2026-honda-cb1000f-preview/

Heated Grip install was a fail. The throttle side is different. It was listed as fitting but as you can see the throttles are different. Going to see if I can return them.
