Straight pipes. But stainless. And they have a nicer presentation

My winter project was a 95 BMW K75. Torn apart, detailed, serviced and repainted Ford Highland Green. Same color as the mustang from Bullitt. Took it for its first ride the other day and it runs like butter. It’s built for putting on some serious miles.

    Looks great!
I was thinking of painting my current project Highland green too. Well either that or Timberland Mica just for the Toyota tie in.

I thought the same thing. But I went with Highland because it has less flake in it. It’s a duller color than the Toyota green. Dull color for a dull rider

I'm a fan of 60s show bikes with heavy flake so I'll most likely do Timberland and add some gold leafing over it. Still a ways to go before I get to paint, but already thinking ahead.

My painter friend says he can't do heavy flake because it messes up his gun. I guess it clogs it?

Yeah, you need a wider tip usually the same size used for primers (2.0 or higher). There's tricks to getting it to lay flat too and then you bury that shit under copious amounts of clear to give you the mils for wet sanding to a high shine. You can always tell a guy that is new to spraying flakes because they'll have some particles that stand on edge or you can see the strokes in the flake pattern. I have some experience painting, but I'll be outsourcing this one. I'm rebuilding dad's bike as a surprise and want it to be right. I'll probably do all the small parts myself (basic black).

Can't stop looking at it. First thing I did on the Nightster was to remove all the reflectors. They're all held on with double sided tape so a quick and easy mod and it cleans up the whole look of the bike.
