Welp, rode around for about 1.5 hours tonight, fan didn't even come on once. Safe to say my bike is much happier with the new coolant.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
Glad to see we're all on the same page. I wasn't trying to be a dick. I've done plenty of stupid shit on sportbikes. Lane-splitting stoplights. Sewing up the interstate. Riding down the shoulders during rush hour. Running. But one time a woman in a car pulled out on the shoulder when she saw me coming. I assume she was pissed because I was "skipping" traffic that she was stuck in. But it never crossed my mind to kick her mirror or any shit like that. I just wanted to de-escalate and un-ass the area. Trust me, I understand how impossible it is to ride a sportbike and not break any laws. I DGAF about laws, but I do like to be respectful and responsible. Most of the time.

    What bike is it again?
My R6 fan comes on all the time. It is so annoying. Done it since new though, so I assume it is normal.

I have a 2006 GSXR 600. When I serviced the coolant, the reservoir was empty and the radiator wasn't filled all the way to the top. Now I have it filled to the brim and I filled the reservoir to the fill line.

FWIW my fan would come on pretty quickly too, it would only take a few seconds of idling at a red light for it to come on. Now it takes a lot longer to reach those temps. Generally coolant should be changed every 2 years... so I was way overdue. I flushed it completely and put in a 5 year coolant so won't have to do again for a while.

Same with my CB1000r Honda but it always cools down quick with the fan on so I don't really pay much attention.

Ya mine cools right down once you get going also (and the fan does a good job). It is just annoying when you stop and it has to kick on again.

Overkill07 said I should pop in here and see what’s up. I picked up a 2017 Husqvarna 701 enduro last year. Had a KTM 690r, KTM 500 EXC, and Triumph Street triple R over the last decade.

Riding the Trans America Trail this August. Shipped my bike back east and my buddy just picked it up today.

Nice to see so much bike chatter in here!

i almost bought a 701 instead of my 690 last year. if they had the sm in stock i probably would have. the ktm dealer was closer and i figured i didnt want to pay the extra for the minor differences.

Yep, Forest roads are re-opened, time to poke around see what's going on.
