First day of spring, looking forward to some good riding weather! Time for a new helmet so I ordered a Shoei RF-1200 and also some more parts for the new bike :)

I've used my new Rf-1200 twice this week. I was surprised at how loud it was in a tuck position. I guess that's why they include the silicone oil for the visor seal. It ventilates MUCH better than my RF-1000.

Interesting, yeah that seems to be the trade off - the better it flows air the louder it likely will be. I currently have a Bell Star that's going on 6 years old. I liked it a lot and tried a new one but it felt like I was in between sizes. Tried on the Shoei last week and the fit was much better and that's my biggest concern, hopefully it won't be too noisy.

yeah noise generally comes with the airflow. i like airflow for the summers here and just use earplugs to fix the noise level

My RF-1000 seems to be quieter, but it's also larger in size. I like how compact the RF-1200 is. The fit is a little snug, but it's my first week. I'm sure it will break in. I believe there are foam ear inserts available for the RF-1200 that will reduce noise volume.

Dumb question. As you guys, I have also recently picked up the rf-1200. what is that little bottle of oil/silicone whatever for? Just to treat the rubber bits to keep them from drying out?

I also use it on the actual face shield mechanism where it connect to the helmet on the sides for a smooth operation for open and closing it. (I have an Aria Corsair X)

Went for a ride bout two weeks ago first time since 2015. Younger brother set me up for failure he tighten my chain and lubed it. But somehow he got oil on my rear tire. Very first left turn I made ass end washed out from under me. Probably a 30mph crash sucked but got back up and finished our ride but after I got done yelling at him for 20mins. Minor road rash on my left knee and some bruising.
