I've been commuting this week in 37 and 40-degree weather. I think I'm going to change my minimum temp rule to 50 degrees. I don't know how I managed to do this every morning in college during the Winter. Not even full-body long-johns are helping me in the wind. My new Joe Rocket jacket has a nice weather liner that keeps my core warm, but my knees and hands are pretty raw.
    I'm thankful Spring is here!

I picked up some new, thicker Joe Rocket gloves yesterday. Not Winter gloves, but also not perforated like my other Joe Rockets.

do any of y'all have motorcycle headlights with this stupid adapter? I often have to mess with it to get it to make a proper connection. My original wiring harness melted out, and I had to put a new H4 connector (ceramic this time) in.. same with this dumb adapter. Too many connections on top of connections.. too many failure points.

I was so close to buying one of these in 2009. I'd been putting aside $ from each week's paycheck while in school. After a year, I had $2500 set aside. Then I stumbled upon a '75 CB500 Twin and bought it instead.

From the welding thread but applicable here too:

I had a snapped stud in my motorcycle motor I wanted to get out. I have a stud extractor that just wouldn't bite. I practiced on another piece of already broken and removed stud and large nut. After that I went at it on the real version.

    The setup:

After being off the road 3 years, this son of a bitch is finally going to come back together soon.

Knives should be included in all garage endeavors, change my mind.

Nothing new, but am happy the weather is allowing me to ride to work again. Temps are still low 30s going home, but it’s worth it to ride in the 60s going to work.

I have a 14 mile commute and work nights, so one way or the other is in the dark and cold. As long as the temp is above 32, I seem to do OK, but wouldn't want to ride much farther. I wear Kevlar lined jeans that really help cut the wind and a neck gator, plus a heavy leather jacket with liner. I don't like my winter gloves, so I wear my perforated ones and can't move my hands by the time I get home. I'll be glad when overnight lows are in the 40s. Makes a huge difference.

I will occasionally rest my hands on the engine to keep them warm on cold days. Clutch hand is fine most of the time but throttle hand has to wait for red lights.

I trailered mine from my garage to a mostly snow/ice free area today just so I could ride a little. Couldn’t take driving on pretty clear roads to work everyday and not being able to even get the bike out of the driveway.
