Took it out for an hour today now that it’s finally legal. Riding for the first time in 3 years. It’s a feeling I can’t describe.

I know the feeling. I took a break for 6 years due to a bad spill that totaled my last bike. First time back on two wheels was a breath of fresh air literally and figuratively.

Any ideas on how to straighten the sub frame? Bought it like this, bike doesn’t have any major scrapes so don’t know why it’s so tweaked. It’s a 2005 Yamaha XT225

Are you sure it is the subframe and not just a wheel alignment issue? Is the rear axle lined up correctly? Pics of it on the ground? Sometimes those stands can cause things to look more out of line than they actually are.

Edit: rear plastics are also notorious for tweaking, which can cause the whole rear to look off center.

Swapped my bulbs for cheap Amazon LEDs. $80 later and I’m totally pleased. Will post pics later.

Trying to figure out how to deal with the sun. I'm thinking I can use a Ram mount to keep a sunglasses holder on my handler bars so I can choose exactly when I want to wear them. Do you guys just switch out visors?

I rarely ride at night. That being said, if I do ride out later in the evening, I just take the clear visor with me in my camera backpack. Just in case I don't make it back before dark for some reason.

That thing is fucking sexy. Anyone know how to read the stamping on a Nissin master cylinder? I need to rebuild one, no idea what bike it came off. Stamping on one side says 5 Nissin and the other side says 3S 14.

In the past i just ran a tinted visor and dealt with it at night. It wasnt terrible but you did lose clarity for potholes.

Now i run the self tinting visor. Hands down worth it. Clear at night and self adjusts during the day. Bell and Shoei have them depending on helmet

Is it "transitions" brand? I have an rf-1200, I'll start doing some research. Thank you!

Transition visor is what i was looking for. Its not a brand. But get it. Guarantee youll like it. I wanted one for my rf1100but shoei didnt have it, hence why i ran a tinted visor. Ive now bought 2 transition visors for 2 helmets. Ill buy one every chance i get if i use the helmet on the street.

I run Icon helmet's that have the flip down sun visor. On the supermoto I have a little bag on the fender I keep some cheapo sunglasses in the wear under the goggles.

    Swiggity swangin' biggity bangin'
    That's very very sexy.

    All of this.

I have a photochromatic visor for both my Bell and new Shoei, and I will not run a helmet without one. I hated not having the clarity of vision at night but I also hated being blinded by the sun and fiddling with sunglasses. If you find a DLX version of a Bell helmet, the photochromatic visor is included. Otherwise you'll have to buy the visor separately. Shoei only offers their transition visor separately and neither visor from either company is cheap. That said, it's a highly worthwhile investment for clarity of vision.

my helmet has a Transitions visor. I love it. You may be able to get a pinlock Transitions insert.
