Thank you for the complement! I agree, Mr Barber has created a wonderful place. Up to last year, I rode that track 4 times a year. I love it. Long drive and aging body makes me less motivated to get out there.

allow me to take a crack at this one

I believe it to be one of those "because why not" and simply for the sake of aesthetics

also I don't think its been stretched, the chopped tail section may just gives it that stretched look (but I very well may be wrong here)

See above. Always wanted to put a set of these tires on a bike, swingarm is stock length.

Was a great day out on the trails and for not riding dirt in 15yrs or so I'm beat up. I'm so tired. My buddy crashed hard on my new baby but was more worried about his well being then the bike. Bike made it out ok just some new rash on the fenders all is good.

Perfect riding weather today. Sounds like you had a good time, sorry to hear about the spill hope your buddy’s feeling ok.

I went for a quick rip this morning on the SV. Was hoping to get it inspected but the shop was closed. I’ve been riding my cruiser all summer almost forgot how quick and flickable this little bike is.

I'm just wondering why though? Do you ride it off-street?

I thought the 640 adventure came with dual disks? Is my memory deceiving me?

Not the earlier ones, just the last couple of years (2005, 2006, iirc) had the dual disc. Those later model 640 adventures also had the low fender. Those are harder to find than the earlier adventure and they aren’t easy to find either.

Thanks! It’s my fourth 640 LC4 and although they all vibrate ( sit on center stand running and rev throttle to see the bike walk) some are worse than others. My 2001 DukeII was a vibrating monster. Both of my 640 enduros and this adventure are not too bad and cruise right down the highway at 70 with no issue.

Of course I can’t feel my hands after 150 miles but who needs hands to ride a bike? I am lucky really, this adventure is actually pretty smooth considering the norm.

We (my son) had a ‘99 640. I like those bikes. Open the throttle and vibration becomes unnoticed :D

Airline track, I like it. I find my truck hard for me to load a bike. The bed is tall to step into.

    Ask and ye shall receive!
02 TL1000-R with 99 bodywork, Corbin seat, reflashed ECU, HyperPro RSC steering damper, EBC ProLite front rotors, custom cut by me rear rotor, Brembo 19x18 radial brake master, Brembo radial clutch master, Yosh full system with Yosh R77 GSX-R 1000 cans, custom valved and sprung forks, Penske triple clicker with LE link and titanium spring in the rear. Have a set of Woodcraft clip-ons that I need to get around to putting on it too. 19,500 original miles. I don't ride this one as much as I should, and sometimes think about selling it. Then I go ride it and it's like nah, I think I'll keep it. The sounds this bike makes are amazing and you don't come across them much anymore, let alone sorted out with all the goodies this one has.
