So I've got a 5 month old now and the Mrs. asked me not to ride for a while until baby girl is a bit older. She bribed me with some new Fox 2.5s

She didnt ask me to sell but honestly knowing that my bike is just sitting there and not being able to take her for a spin whenever I want has been killing me so I'm going to try to sell my R9T.

I managed to convince wifey that I needed to take new pics for my Cycletrader ad so I got in a few miles today, but that short lil ride just made me realize just how badly I'm going to miss riding!:(

    Here she is...:pout:

Sweet bike! I say keep it unless you're really strapped for cash. My mindset is that even if I could only ride once or twice a year it's worth owning a motorcycle. Registration/insurance is minimal for me so worst case I have a nice garage decoration.

Same I rode my street bike two times this year. And probably 5times in the past 5 years. But I've had it since 2004 and don't plan on selling it anytime soon. But it's nice to have if I feel like taking it out for a spin.

You’re going to have to treat your bike like a side-piece. Keep pics of it on a burner phone and make time to ride like “working late”, or that “corporate conference” you have to go to for a few days, or that “new client” you have to make an emergency sales pitch to.

Yeah there's definitely that part of me that says screw it I'm not selling.

Then there's the frugal side of me... Full coverage when I was in FL was only a few hundred bucks a year and that was for a decent amount of coverage. Now in Queens it's $1500 which is basically the same as what I'm paying to insure my TRDNoPro. Plus we're going to need a 2nd car soon enough so I figured selling is probably the better choice. Besides, if I sell now that means when wifey is comfortable with me riding again I gets to go bike shopping:thumbsup:. That Harley lowrider s has got my attention!:D

What I really need to do is get out of this godforsaken city. :annoyed:

If you don't plan on riding, lower your liability rates to the state minimum, remove collision coverage and just keep comprehensive coverage for theft/ fire protection. That should lower your rate, hopefully enough to justify keeping the bike.

NYC is a thirsty bloodsucking beast. It's a love/hate for sure. I plan on moving to Long Island for the schools hopefully within the next few years where the rates drop back down to normal levels.

Yep did that as soon as I saw my premium. Dropped everything to minimums and yet it's still $800 which more than what I was paying for in Westchester for full coverage this past year.

You may want to check out Progressive. I have my home and auto with Allstate, but they couldn't come close to the rate I pay for a stand alone motorcycle policy from Progressive.
