Sunny, 45° with snow forecast for the next few days so I took advantage of it and went for a quick ride. It’s been a couple weeks and it felt great.

Got me some seat time. The school lot down the road and the neighborhood is my happy place right now. Turning from a stop is challenging me. And I think I gotta jump on the inverted Iron mirrors....all I see is shoulders! :annoyed:

Awesome! You and I are doing the same thing.

There is a big church parking lot about three residential blocks from my house, and it's my first place to go so I can get comfortable on the bike and practice my low speed turns and swerve maneuvers.
The pavement is totally clean and smooth and there are rarely any cars parked there, so it's all mine until somebody comes out to yell at me. :stirthepot:

Got some more seat time today! Good ole SE Texas weather! :p

Not feeling comfortable with the mirrors on the Iron.....tried the mirror flip, didn’t seem to help.....maybe longer stemmed mirrors?? Or maybe I’m just being paranoid. :anonymous:

Feeling good around the hood, and still being overly cautious. But having a good time.

You'd be surprised what new handlebars will do for mirror placement. When I had my Nightster is was in the same boat: mirrors on top gave me nothing but shoulders, flipped mirrors was all elbows. I added z-bars (Biltwell Keystones) and the flipped mirrors landed right in that sweet spot where I could see everything behind me below my arms. They really weren't that much different in height than the stock bars either. It has to do with your riding position and overall dimensions.

My current bike has Roland Sands bars and the mirrors are better placed on top for a better view (they look better too).
