Cool 50 degrees down in SE Texas today! It was dry so I took her out. Didn't take long before my damn feet were like blocks of ice! Good times though. Getting more comfortable. :D:thumbsup:

I always hate riding under about 55-60 degrees. Done it, hell I commuted in it, but it takes some smart layering. 60 is my comfort threshold for sure.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Picked up a steal of a deal on a 690r Enduro. Previous owner spent some $$$ on it.

Just picked up a Carbon lid. Has been super nice on the long rides or chop. Can’t even tell I have something on.

Found out the forks on my Ducati Scrambler were bent last night, it's been tough finding any used forks to swap out, and I don't think i can justify paying $3000 for ohlins

Hows the wind noise on that? I'm looking for a DS lid that isn't going to make me deaf on long highway jaunts and the krios is on my list.

Offtopic from all else, did anybody else hear Rossi is being replaced at Factory Yamaha?

So the big three are Arai XD4, Klim Krios and the Shoei Hornet
I own the first two, as they fit my melon well. I love my Arai, but felt it was too heavy and the visor does do some buffering that gets old on my 1190.
The Krios is Super light, and has doesn’t move my head as much in the wind. However, I will day it doesn’t feel as well insulated as the Arai.
That leads us to the Shoei. I own a Shoei dirt bike helmet I love. But didn’t get the Hornet, as I like the way the Arai felt better. It’s my understanding that Shoei did a boat load of wind resistance tests on this helmet, which leads me to believe and I have seen reviews as well that it has the beats all in wind noise.

It was only a matter of time. Fabio is the future and the only chance he'll have against MM is with a full factory outfit. With JL signing to the Factory Yahama test team, it's a good opportunity to even further develop the bike in anticipation Fabio moving into the factory role. I doubt we'll see Rossi on the Petronas bike. Personally, I'd rather see him hang it up than fall down the ranks like Edwards, Hayden (RIP) and so many other veterans that didn't know when to call it quits.

I rode in one a few times and it was noisy enough I still wore earplugs. The Scuberth E1 I wear now doesn’t need earplugs.

    Thanks for the input guys.

My list is still too long.

    AGV AX9
    Klim Krios
Arai XD-4 "vision" (matches the bike.. I'm a vain person :anonymous:)
I hadn't been looking at the Hornet, but it's now on the list.
The E1 looks decent, but I'm pretty bought in to the Sena infrastructure and the cardo based pre-wiring is a bit of a turnoff.

I was set on buying a Klim Krios Element in matte white a few months ago, there was a closeout on them, but missed the boat in my size, unfortunately.

One of these nights I'm guessing I'll have one beer too many and finally make a decision. Heading to a larger town this weekend for a Costco run and am planning on stopping by the moto shop and trying whatever they have on the list on.

Unless things have changed the E1 uses Sena comms, either the SRC or SC10 variety. Mine still has the cheap SMH5 on the side that I transferred over from an old helmet rather than buying the fancy new stuff.

On Revzilla's description this is what I'm seeing:

The E1 includes a built-in antenna for Schuberth’s SRC-System PRO. Utilizing the latest in Cardo communication technology, the Bluetooth SRC-System serves as an intercom with other riders and can connect to a GPS unit, MP3 player or mobile phone for navigation, music listening or phone calls.

I have two SMH10Rs , one on my current lid and one on my girlfriends. Hoping to just transfer the one over from my old helmet. Still the lowest profile comm option I've found.

Anyone got any tips or tricks on getting the clutch shaft bolt off? I’ve heard of the penny in the gear trick but haven’t tried it yet. I hit it with my 1/2” impact and nothing still.

Is it left hand thread? That’s how HD has theirs.

2nding left hand threads. My Ninja rotor was fastened on with left hand threads, figuring that out was a big pain.

I went in and talked to the Kawasaki dealer and the technician said it wasn’t reverse threaded. My manual says nothing about reverse thread either. I did try to take it out going reverse thread though and still nothing.
I think I’m going to try heating it up a little bit tonight

Don’t left hand thread bills usually have notches in the head anyways?
