All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I gotcha. Then I suggest you roll with a stand-alone armor and then wear some abrasive resistant shirt as you described before. I think that company HELD makes some kickass stuff for Harley riders.
And just pack your rain gear somewhere.
While you might not want to wear a fitted jacket, which I get, I think your best off to have the armor snug up against you.
Leatt makes some as well as that other link in the post above called Forcefield Armor.
I can’t recommend you wearing just an abrasive jacket as I have experienced some shitty hits on my bike.

2 yrs ago I got slammed into by a 17yr old girl in a Tahoe. The jacket and armor saved my ass.
Let’s us know what setup you roll with.
This is my go to with an armor suit underneath.

Here is the company HELD I was referring to. They make several shirt/light jackets that breath and have armor. If I ride a hog, I would wear this, cause you got to be styling on the that machine.

My dad said one of his coworkers races bikes and rides regularly with them. She said she had a bad crash racing and it saved her life. I like to think a thousand bucks for one of these is worth it for a potential crash. Hopefully they do start getting more affordable though as the competition rises between makers

HB Harley is running it too. Curious how many actually get the 0%. But I will be going in again regardless this week. If I can get a bike with an APR lower than my CU, I will likely just do it.

Good question... probably need a credit score in upper 700's is my guess, but if they're offering 0 as the starting point it sounds like you'll get a decent rate either way. Keep us posted!

I have excellent credit above 800 last I checked. I was reading some other posts to see how accurate that 0% is and it seems like a lot don’t get it. BUT, as you said it’s a great starting point and if I can get an APR under 8.5% (lower than my CU standard rates) I will very likely buy the bike then. Will probably try and get in Wednesday or Thursday and potentially buy on Friday as I have the day off.

I think I got 5.4% and I have mid 700s, when I bought in September

I’d be happy with that. I’ll post up what they offer me when I go in. My sales guy is off Monday/Tuesday so will hopefully try and get in Wednesday night after work. Kinda wish this was last week with the end of the month and then needing to hit sales goals. Probably could have gotten a bitchin deal

When I bought my 2018 Anniversary 48, my guy said it didnt work like that. I was able to get that bike for the same price as a normal 48. The anniversary had a $1500 numbered tank, ABS, and the security fob. But then I traded it on their Freedom Program.

Actually look into that program. You buy a sportster, ride it for a year and put as many miles as you want, then trade in, and get your full sales price as your trade value. As far as I know, its still happening. Ask your dealer

I don’t fit on sportys. I tesT rode a 48 special and it just didn’t fit me very well. That does seem like a damn good deal though

I mean you could buy a sporty, then trade it in, in a month for a Street Bob or whatever else you want.

This is the updated link. I guess its happening until 8/31/2020

Better than nothing but I don’t see that being very effective. Unless it fits tight the armor will not stay over what it’s supposed to protect when you start sliding.
